About me
Hello, my name is Laura.
As a Psychologist, Counsellor, and Coach, I specialise in a variety of holistic therapeutic interventions, including psychotherapy and behavior modification, aimed at fostering positive well-being.
My toolkit encompasses one-on-one skills development, coaching, counselling, and networking. In coaching, I utilise techniques such as observation, listening, and exploration to assist clients to devise solutions and actions that align with their values. A crucial aspect of my work is fostering a 'commitment to action' mindset, promoting enduring personal growth and change through goal setting and action plans, while also identifying obstacles to change.
I hold a PhD in Psychology, with my research focusing on the interplay between mindfulness, compassion, and the body. Additionally, I am a guest lecturer for the MSc Mindfulness and Compassion course at a local university. In 2022, I was among the first Psychologists in the UK to earn the title of Chartered Coaching Psychologist.
I have also undergone further training in Health Psychology to aid individuals coping with the psychological effects of long-term health conditions, including autoimmune diseases.
Furthermore, I provide supervision to counsellors and coaches (as well as any helping/caring professional, including DSLs), offering a secure space to reflect on professional practice while supporting the supervisee's personal well-being. This service is also available to businesses seeking to enhance staff well-being and manage stress.
As a BPS Chartered Coaching Psychologist, I support those aiming for BPS Coaching Psychology Chartership, providing supervision and guidance to develop the necessary skills for this qualification.
In addition to my qualifications, I have completed the SDS Essentials Clinical Supervision course, qualifying me for the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors.
I have 12 years of experience in the following services:
- Mental health services at universities
- MIND, the national mental health service
- Schools in the Midlands
- YMCA
