About me

Do you want to change something in your life, but don't know how? Facing new challenges in life or work? Feeling self-critical or anxious? Thinking about a career change? Received harsh feedback? Coaching is for everyone who wants to change something, who feels stuck, who wants to feel more fulfilled and happy.

I help people to find out what's blocking them, and explore what they can do about it - then we set off on a journey of transformation together.

What happens in a coaching session?
The first step is to make contact, and I'll get back to you for a no pressure chat. I'm warm and friendly, and will answer any questions - for me there aren't any 'dumb questions'. You'll get a good sense of what it will be like to be coached by me in this conversation. Then we will arrange to meet for a conversation and if we decide to work together, we start the work. Getting started is as easy as that.

Initially I'll ask you to tell me about your work, background, hopes and concerns and you will have plenty of opportunity to express what is on your mind. You can ask me any questions and I'll encourage you to give and receive feedback, so that we can keep updating and working really effectively and at a good pace for you. Your coaching goals may change, as you get more clear about what you want, and that's fine too. It's important that you get what you need from each session.

Each session, I'll check whether you want to speak from the top of your mind, or prefer to have me focus your thoughts with some incisive questions. We'll agree what level of challenge you want from me, and what kind of support - this varies from person to person, and from day to day, depending on how robust we feel. This way, you will get the most out of our work together.

"I was looking at changing career for a second time and felt in something of a rut. Belinda was immeasurably helpful at providing time, space and a supportive environment in which to talk through my options. I would recommend her wholeheartedly" AH, Teacher

"The coaching sessions with Belinda have been of immeasurable value. Through a collaborative approach, I've taken the first steps on a journey towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life and, in doing so, have learned a great deal about myself. This greater understanding of self has provided renewed insight into key moments and relationships in my life, often with profound new meaning. An unexpected, but wonderful bonus. Belinda has a wonderfully warm, calming style and sessions often feel like catching up with an old friend. I feel more focused, more relaxed and more content." PC, Advertising Agency Team Leader

Life Coaching, Personal Development, Leadership Development, Career Coaching, Executive or Business Coaching?
Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that it's not so important what we call it. Probably you have some specific thoughts about what you want to work on, and in general terms you'll be seeking development and growth, and you'll want to achieve more success and fulfilment in your life. This may be in your work life or your personal life, or both areas. We can work on both simultaneously as an integrative approach is helpful when working to create change. Here are some examples of how you might be thinking about your coaching areas:

  • Coaching for success includes your work goal areas, such as leadership, career transition, gaining promotion, moving job or career, training for new profession, communicating and relationships at work, resilience, dealing with criticism, anxiety in meetings or presentations, entrepreneurship, expansion, legacy and retirement planning.

"I found Belinda to be somebody that I could warm to and trust immediately and as I had never been to a career coach before this was very important to me. I do owe a big thank you to Belinda for helping me to make the decision that was the right one for me." John I.

  • Coaching for fulfilment increases your feelings of wellbeing, confidence and happiness, provides you with resources to stay calm, focused and manage management, and leads to better relationships and greater work-life balance.

"I come away from our coaching sessions with better insight, a greater sense of confidence in decisions I have made, being clearer about the direction I’m taking and calmer and comfortable as a result. I am forever grateful for her professionalism, patience and challenge. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Belinda as a coach to anyone I meet!" KA

  • Developing mindfulness supports you to non-judgementally attend to your values and the role your feelings play in your inner world, and how these impact your thinking and relationships. It's a powerful way to take what you learn in coaching into all of your life, so you can become your own coach in future.

"Her use of mindfulness has helped immensely in ‘capturing the moment’ and increasing my awareness of how I think, feel or react to certain issues and situations. Frequently, coaching sessions with Belinda offer me an effective reality check that helps me focus, reflect and move forward. Further, I find Belinda is very in tune with when I just need to talk, think or be challenged" KA, Manager, Healthcare Sector

"I was unsure about getting professional help for myself however Belinda’s first coaching session put me completely at ease. With over 25 years of commercial experience in global organisations and small to medium enterprises, I retrained for a new career as a Coaching Psychologist. Studying whilst working full time, I know something about the difficulties in making changes in our work and personal life.

My psychology research for my Master's was in the 'Impostor Syndrome', a feeling  of not being as good as others think we are, and of imminent exposure as a fraud. When triggered, the feelings associated can be frightening and debilitating, and my research highlighted not only the difficulties, but also some very effective ways coaching can help.

I was born in Hong Kong, and spent my first 13 years there. I have worked with several people experiencing the phenomena called 'Third Culture Kids' which describes those who have moved to the UK expecting to feel at home and fit in, but found it a struggle to settle.

My style is supportive as well as challenging, and I find that a collaborative approach is the most successful for creating appropriate and lasting changes.

Testimonials:

"I came to coaching feeling slightly apprehensive and unsure as to what might unfold. However, this feeling was not to last for long. Belinda's sensitivity and professionalism made me feel not only at ease but enabled me to 'open up' and feel understood. I was able to relax and speak freely with Belinda, knowing that she would give me her undivided attention. Belinda's sensitivity and ability to 'tune in' to my energy and needs is exemplary. She is a consummate professional and a natural coach.   I found her input invaluable, particularly around body work and energy - and her intuitive insights have proven transformational in the way I now lead my life. Thank you, Belinda."
Deputy Chief Executive, Charity Sector

"Thank you very much for all your help over the past few months. The insights gained and reflections will stay with me. I particularly valued your ever present consideration and sensitivity."
Consultant Psychiatrist, NHS

Trauma work testimonial:

"You made me understand how my actions were a result of a trauma in my early life, and how I didn't have to blame myself or feel guilty. I gained a lot of insight into myself, an opening, and it is clear which steps I now need to take further.
Your support has been invaluable, I was aware that I couldn't turn to just anyone with this subject, and your knowledge about trauma and the body is one that not many people know about. I felt truly respected just the way I am and feel very grateful for the experience. Thank you so much"
