How I use the science of wellbeing
What exactly is wellbeing? How does it contribute to success, productivity, and personal growth? Can wellbeing be created? Are there ways of building it? What about for those with ADHD?
Integrating the best of the best in psychological research
A recent review of psychological research (Donaldson et al, 2021) looked at 30 years of studies that sought to generate wellbeing to find the most effective approaches.
They analysed over a thousand studies and identified the four that increased happiness the most and then explored similarities.
The most effective approaches…
1. Focused on multiple dimensions of wellbeing (see images): Feeling good, sense of purpose, positive relating, mindset, and others. I support your positive change in a range of wellbeing-supporting areas.
2. Included new learning about wellbeing (see images) - the various pathways and how and why they work. I integrate some psychological teaching into my coaching including theories and models.
3. Had practical exercises to experiment with - They tried out multiple ways of doing things that increase wellbeing. I can tailor happiness creating activities perfectly with your situation.
