About me

Do you often find yourself struggling to stay focused and complete tasks? Are you frustrated by distractions that seem to pull you away from what you're trying to accomplish? You're not alone. Many individuals with ADHD experience similar challenges in their daily lives.

Understanding ADHD Challenges

Consider this scenario: You sit down to work on an important project, but before you know it, your mind is wandering to a dozen different things. You start one task, only to be interrupted by an incoming email or a new idea that seems too exciting to ignore. Sound familiar?

Living and working with ADHD can be frustrating. Making effective plans, staying organized, and following through on tasks can often feel like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. It's as if your brain prefers to go with whatever grabs its attention in the moment, leaving you feeling scattered and annoyed.

The Path to Thriving with ADHD: Strategies and Support

But here's the thing: you're not limited by your challenges. With the right guidance and support, you can learn strategies to manage your symptoms and thrive in your personal and professional life.

Imagine being able to channel your creativity and energy into meaningful projects, without constantly feeling derailed by frustrating distractions. Picture yourself making clear, actionable plans and following through on them with confidence.

Informed by Research: Integrating Positive Psychology

As an ADHD coach, my approach is informed by both personal experience and extensive research in the field of positive psychology. In my research, I have explored the impact of childhood adversity on various outcomes for young adults, including depression, PTSD, and alcoholism. I've found that individuals who have experienced childhood adversity often face significant challenges in their personal and professional lives.

Cultivating Resilience and Well-Being: Coaching Approach

However, I am also passionate about the potential for resilience and growth, even in the face of adversity. My research has shown that positive psychological variables such as self-compassion, optimism, and subjective well-being can serve as powerful buffers against the negative effects of childhood adversity. By integrating these positive factors into interventions and treatments, individuals can not only recover from past trauma but also thrive in their lives.

Drawing on this research, my coaching approach emphasizes the cultivation of these positive factors to help individuals with ADHD navigate their unique challenges and unlock their full potential.

Your Journey to Success: Get Started Today

It's natural to feel frustrated or discouraged at times, but know that you're not alone on this journey. With patience, persistence, and the right support, you can learn to thrive with ADHD.

If you're ready to take control of your life and unlock your full potential, I'm here to help. Let's work together to turn your challenges into opportunities for growth and success. Reach out today to schedule your first session.

"James’ caring, attentive, focused, and listening way of being in the moment has enabled me to have fun, laugh, relax, and experience novel sides within me at the same time as discovering sensitive and vulnerable parts of myself. As a human and as a coach James has provided me space to uncover new potentials within me and break through unhelpful patterns” - Sandra, Youth Worker

"I really enjoyed my coaching journey with James. He was very professional and asked interesting questions allowing me to unlock my vision of what I really want. James helped me to focus on solutions so I could get closer to my goals with each session. He is also a very nice person with a warm and compassionate approach. I finally made the move to working for myself in my dream role and now have more clients than I know what to do with. Highly recommend him as a coach!" - Fabio, Massage Therapist

Every session gave me a chance to focus on what was important to me and my progress and I always left feeling empowered, confident and grounded in my ability to achieve my goals whilst celebrating what I had already achieved. James is encouraging and motivating, whilst making sure you remain in control of your journey. He asks all the right questions - the challenging ones to make you think deeply - but in a sensitive and considered way, that recognised my past trauma and kept me safe. I’m very grateful for James and his commitment to guiding me to achieve my dreams." - John, Communications Lead in Government

"James made me feel very safe and comfortable and able to reflect on some deep questions during a time of loss. He gently guided me, over time, to focus on some things that were important to me and the reasons I wanted to pursue them. James has a warm, caring approach. I found him to be an excellent listener and gentle in his way of guiding our sessions. I found the perfect role for me and have also developed my side-business to be more profitable. Very grateful." - Bonnie, Support Worker in a Charity
