About me

I'm here to help you deal with and overcome common emotional problems associated with stress, worry and anxiety with effective skills and strategies – e.g. mindset; behaviours – so you can be more present, worry less and prevent challenge becoming adversity. I believe that we all have it within ourselves to discover/re-discover how to be resourceful and resilient, and live our best lives. Life gets in the way sometimes, and we can get in our own way too, thinking and behaving in unhelpful ways, and experiencing unpleasant emotions that prevent us being who we are/want to be. This approach ties in well with the essence of coaching, which is based on the principle that our well-being is down to ourselves, and we are responsible for it. This is a positive concept in that it means that we have the means, the power and the influence to change our situations if we can work out how to do so.

Whether these sorts of issues have been getting in the way for you at home/at work, or you'd like to improve a specific situation in your life and achieve specific goals, I can offer you a unique kind of support, focusing totally on your own position, in an unconditionally supportive and non-judgemental way, and giving you a genuine commitment to your well-being. This will involve a combination of questioning, listening, feedback and goal-setting. We may as appropriate concentrate on building on your strengths - your character strengths – as a way of enhancing your wellbeing, and getting back on track.

My approach in our coaching relationship is to work with you to clarify and make sense of your present situation; encourage you to develop new ways of dealing with this going forward, and help you to work on a positive action plan to achieve the result you want. The results for you may include improved personal awareness and effectiveness at work and outside work; more motivation and resourcefulness; an increase in self-confidence and self-esteem; a better sense of personal and professional direction and what is really important in your life; improvement in your relationships and the ability to influence your outcomes positively.

If you'd like to achieve one or more of the following, do get in touch:
-          Understand and manage your emotions better
-          Regain purpose, motivation and direction in your life
-          Prevent challenge becoming adversity, and deal well with situations
-          Be resilient and better able to deal with adversity
-          Have a more helpful mindset
-          Understand yourself better
-          Spend less time stressing, and more time living

I'm currently offering coaching face-to-face at my consulting rooms in Reading and Guildford, and via Zoom. (Please note that I also provide ‘Walking and Talking Coaching’, where if you live locally to Reading or Guildford we’ll meet and speak in confidence outdoors. Let me know if you’d like to give that a try? Others have, and have found it helpful).

Lastly, I have been training and developing people for over 35 years through roles in workplace counselling, stress management, coaching, training and teaching. My interest is in supporting you in order that you can make the most of yourself and situations in your personal life and professional life.
