Marc Kirby, Stress Management Plus
About me
I'm here to help you develop the necessary skills and strategies to effectively deal with the stresses and strains uncertain times/our (busy) lives can bring.
Whether you’d like to learn new ways of thinking about and approaching situations, so that you can achieve more positive results, or improve a specific situation in your life and achieve specific goals, I can offer you a unique kind of support, focusing totally on your own position, in an unconditionally supportive and non-judgemental way, and giving you a genuine commitment to your well-being. This will involve a combination of questioning, listening, feedback and goal-setting.
My approach in our coaching relationship is to work with you to clarify and make sense of your present situation; encourage you to develop new ways of dealing with this going forward, and help you to work on a positive action plan to achieve the result you want. The results for you may include improved personal awareness and effectiveness, increased motivation and resourcefulness, a better sense of personal direction and what is really important in your life, improvement in your relationships and the ability to influence your outcomes positively.
Please note that I am trained in and have many years’ experience in single-session coaching. This type of coaching enables us to get to the nub of the issue and form an action plan at the earliest opportunity. One coaching session won’t suit everyone and every situation of course, and where necessary, further coaching is available if needed. Please get in touch if you’d like to know more about this mode of coaching delivery, how it works and so on.
The following are areas I have helped previous clients with/specialise in:
- Managing your emotions
- Resilience
- Relationships (personal/professional)
- Problem solving
- Emotional intelligence
- Motivation
- Confidence
- Assertiveness
- Preventing stress
- Dealing with negativity
- Change and uncertainty
- Optimism (and pessimism)
(Please note that I also provide ‘Walking and Talking Coaching’, where if you live locally to Reading or Guildford we’ll meet and speak in confidence outdoors. Let me know if you’d like to give that a try? Others have, and have found it helpful).
Lastly, I have been training and developing people for over 35 years through roles in workplace counselling, stress management, coaching, training and teaching. My interest is in supporting you in order that you can make the most of yourself and situations in your personal life and professional life.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
