About me

I am a Level 5 qualified life coach, coaching and supporting adults with ADHD (no diagnosis necessary), and everyone else, to bring about the change you seek. This could be to develop organisational skills at home and at work, to help with issues such as confidence, time-management, procrastination, impulsivity and overwhelm. It could be to improve self-esteem and self-belief or to support with relationships, parenting, anxiety and emotional or binge eating. It could be to talk and make sense of your life and experiences and to develop strategies to improve emotional regulation. I tailor my coaching to your needs with a compassionate, person-centred approach. I am happy to quote for coaching through Access to Work.

I also offer 'body-doubling', or 'buddying-up' for decluttering, tidying and getting admin tasks done. This can be by phone or Zoom. You do the task, I gently coach you, chat to you and keep you company while you do it.

Also coaching for the partners and families of those with ADHD.

No ADHD diagnosis is required to work with me.

Please read on or visit my website if you would like more information, or send me an email.

ADHD:  Having worked extensively with children with ADHD for 22 years and undertaken further study in adult ADHD, I moved into coaching adults with ADHD as I have an understanding and personal experience of how neurodiversity can affect your life as an adult. People experience ADHD in different ways so my sessions are tailored to suit you and what you are looking for from coaching. Let's make your life easier by working out what works for you - no more trying to squeeze yourself into a one-size-fits-all hole! Become more organised, develop belief in yourself and your abilities, begin to take control. I love my work and personally identify strongly with Dyspraxia (DCD) and ADHD, although I have sought no diagnosis.

We should all be able to be ourselves and live our lives in the best way we can, by finding the approach and method that suits us personally.

I also coach to help address emotional and binge eating. We don't over-eat because we're greedy, it's because there are emotions at play which have not been dealt with in a more appropriate way. Coaching will help you to deal with emotional issues - be they deep-rooted or recent - and practical interventions break the 'auto-pilots' the brain has developed around eating. If you're concerned about how you eat, when you eat, what you eat and your body image, let's talk. That's the first and most important step!

There are many common goals in life, but getting there is a very individual process. When you are coaching with me, every session will be tailored to your way of thinking and experiencing the world so that you are able to make the change you want to make in a way that fits you and your circumstances.

Whatever you are looking for, please contact me for a free telephone or video consultation - so that we can talk about what you need and check that coaching with me is right for you. You can email, text or call me to arrange a chat, or you can book one directly through my website.

A handful of testimonials:

Madeline, UK:  I cannot speak highly enough about Linda's ADHD coaching. She is so empathetic, wise, knowledgeable, and trustworthy - I lucked out finding her as an ADHD coach. In my ADHD journey, I am taking medication and have chosen to do coaching as well; I see it as the holistic side of my treatment. Linda walks alongside me. She provides invaluable knowledge about how the disorder affects everyday interactions. Her coaching has been absolutely vital  in my ADHD journey - thank you Linda!

Erin, Essex:  I have really enjoyed working with Linda over the past 6 months. Linda has a very tailored and flexible approach to coaching where it really feels like she is listening and has a great skill for helping me to find my own answers to the issues I am dealing with. Linda’s guidance and advice is very practical and easy to follow and I look forward to every session.

Fran, Essex:  Linda has been instrumental in helping me form a clear plan for managing my adhd. I love that the appointments are flexible to my needs. She has helped me through multiple difficult and uncertain circumstances in my life by offering practical but realistic strategies, visualisations and other techniques. I would highly recommend her!

Stuart, Essex:   I contacted Linda last year after doing some research into ADHD and believing that it is something that I had been struggling with all my life. After a lengthy zoom call with Linda I decided to start sessions on a bi-weekly basis. I found these sessions essential for dealing with those first few weeks where my mind was racing with memories of countless times when ADHD had impacted my life and I felt that I had been let down by the adults around me at the time. I was in mourning for a life that might have been if I had been diagnosed as a child and having Linda there to listen helped me work through this at a reasonable pace.

Gina, Essex:  For many years I have been troubled by difficulties in meeting deadlines, organising my time and getting things done. Suspecting ADHD, I contacted Linda who has helped me a great deal with strategies to overcome these difficulties. It was such a relief that she understands these problems. She has given me the confidence to make progress with things that I have wanted to do for a long time.

Ivor M, UK: Just finished my initial 3 sessions with Linda King and feeling much better equipped to take on the world with my unique brain wiring! I’ve only recently realised I have ADHD and whilst waiting to try and access a diagnosis and support from the NHS, it’s been invaluable to work with Linda and learn simple ways to reframe some of my struggles and employ techniques to make life easier. Linda’s practical and compassionate support has taken some of the emotional stress out of the ADHD and has already had a positive impact on both my work and personal life.

AB, United Kingdom: Linda has been an amazing help for me. I was struggling with managing my ADHD, and she not only helped with some practical elements but helped me realise where my strengths were. She really understood me, and listened to my issues, and helped me build a plan and mechanisms.

AF, Sutton Coldfield: I needed some practical advice on how to manage my time running a business with ADHD. I wasn't sure what to expect but it felt from the first like I was talking to a supportive friend. Linda asked perceptive questions which helped me gain insight into the issues I have with time and attention management and the resulting anxiety. She at no point told me what to do but she guided me to find solutions which work for me. On top of that, she also did a brief Neuro-Linguistic Programming session with me during one of our coaching sessions. I came to it with an open mind, neither negative nor expecting a miracle. Since then, however, I have noticed little by little positive results... and more positive results... and more... .

BG, Essex:  I worked with Linda to help me recover from a very long term issue with disordered eating. She is very easy to talk to and never judgmental. She supported me in taking small steps and when I felt I had failed helped me to see how things really were changing.

I looked at Linda's information many times before contacting her - I wish I had contacted her sooner.

Rebecca, Suffolk: Linda is a compassionate, skilled person and has the ability to get to the heart of the problem.
In our coaching sessions, she always made me feel like she truly cared. .Just by following her lead and putting in the work, you will come out a new stronger ‘You’.

Laura, Gloucestershire: I found Linda through The Life Coach Directory. I have a fairly recent diagnosis of ADHD and it has been a bit of a struggle. Linda was very kind, listened to me and came up with some practical strategies to help me manage my anxiety, and put into practice some solid ways of organising myself and beginning to overcome my talent for procrastination. The sessions were fun and always helpful, and the work done has been an ongoing help to me.

Sue B, Essex:  I visited Linda to deal with pressures from the past and present. Linda has a very unique way of helping you achieve the life you deserve. So glad I saw Linda and would thoroughly recommend her to others.

Carole, Colchester:  I had three Life Coaching sessions with Linda and I can honestly say that I felt progressively better after each one.  I was encouraged to talk about my issues and gently prompted to work my way through my feelings and emotions, not worrying about getting upset and tearful but seeing that as a release of pent up frustration.  Linda encouraged me to look at things from a different perspective and we practised some exercises that helped me to develop strategies to resolve my problems for myself, which is the main aim of Life Coaching.  I found it to be an amazingly rewarding and calming process and would not hesitate to recommend Linda to anyone who is feeling troubled by any aspects of their life.  She is wonderfully empathetic, perceptive and totally professional.

Meg, Kent:  Linda gave me life coaching before my driving test, and it was an immensely helpful experience! It definitely helped with my anxiety on the day, and Linda herself is such a caring, calm, warm person - speaking to her helped put a lot of things into focus and perspective, and I would thoroughly recommend her!
