About me

Are you looking for an experienced business or professional coach who really understands how individuals tick? Someone who is able to both support and challenge you to dig deep into your own resources and plan strategies which are robust enough to stand the test of time? A coach who is practical, robust and passionate for your success, and never lets her clients short change themselves?

With a background in communications training and consultancy, I draw on many years experience of supporting people in leadership roles to bring out the best in themselves and their teams. I also specialise in issues around motivation, career decisions, and developing confidence in all areas of professional and personal life.

'I would definitely recommend Henrietta as a coach for anybody who is currently leading a team or otherwise looking to progress into a leadership role, as well as for those who would like to gain an understanding of how their strengths can be channelled to benefit their career.'
AC, Senior Online Marketing Manager

My way of working

I believe that my role as a professional coach is to be your ally.  You are the joint project we work on together, to get you wherever you need and want to be. My style is warm, open and friendly and I'm told I am extremely good at putting people at their ease. I will offer you strong challenges but always grounded in  humour and an unwavering belief in your ability to succeed. I'm very comfortable with strong emotions and am able to help people move forward when they feel stuck and believe they have exhausted all the possibilities open to them.

'Using deep listening and subtle questioning, Henrietta helped me shine a light on the real issues and come up with my own solution. .. It was a very bespoke experience. An excellent coach, creating real, tangible results.'                                                          IP,  Radio and Television Presenter

Areas of experience

I work with clients from around the globe and my experience spans international  corporations through to small businesses and sole traders, as well as government departments and NGOs.  Coachees come from marketing and PR, engineering, manufacturing, food productions, the legal sector, the field of arts, writing and performance.

'Henrietta is an excellent, thought-provoking coach. We worked together for six months as part of a coaching program at my company. I really valued her ability to cover so many topics modern leaders need to deal with, her experience and straight-forward style. I found it very well suited also to senior leaders and executives who need a place to discuss about how things really are, and how to effect meaningful change.'                                                                                                                     P K, Vice President, Manufacturing Industry

Additional specialisms

I have experience of working with the following:

* People who are neurodiverse - for example on the autistic spectrum

* Clients who identify as lacking in confidence

'I met Henrietta at such a critical moment in my life, not just career. She helped me rediscover my own self worth which was a huge confidence booster both, at work and personal life. In our meetings, I was able to express myself freely and with absolute honesty, thanks to that atmosphere of trust between us, which obviously meant I took away 100% from each of our sessions.'                                                                     EF, working in entertainment industry

* Individuals experiencing stresses and personal crisis, and who may have previously experienced breakdown or mental health issues (I am not a therapist but have worked with many 'border of therapy' clients who need space to express strong emotions)

* Members of the LGBTQ+ community.  My approach is very open, non-judgemental and supportive of individuals' sexuality and sexual identify.

*Young people, including those preparing for university and planning for careers. Also I have significant experience of working with young people preparing to leave the care system.

* People who believe they are stuck

'I found Henrietta's coaching profoundly shifting and valuable. I'd struggled for years with getting any leverage on clutter and hoarding. I was persistently and habitually stuck, and I procrastinated. Henrietta seemed to enable, facilitate and weave a magical conversation that went deep, helped me clarify and shift my thinking, and specifically, help me break through fears ... finally moving me in the right direction.'
I A,  Project Manager

Relationship coaching

I have a particular passion for working with people to help them create positive and healthy relationships - whether in the workplace or within their personal lives. For information about my specialist relationships coaching please see my second website,  rewarding-relationships.com

"Henrietta helped me recognise that you don’t need to keep repeating all the old mistakes. There are different ways to communicate and be with each other, you don’t need to keep falling into the same old patterns."                                                         Z L, male partner in previously troubled relationship

Work application and interview skills

I also help individuals to develop and polish the skills they need for putting across the very best of themselves in job applications and interviews. I taught interview skills for many years and I help individuals to prepare thoroughly, identify and rehearse questions they are likely to be asked and prepare strategies for coping with the unexpected.

'I was almost phobic about giving interviews but you helped me get the job I really wanted. I didn't think that was possible.'                                                                     A S, former career client

Testimonials

'I was fortunate enough to find Henrietta at a time when I was at my most confused and spending swathes of time procrastinating. Henrietta has an amazing way of helping you find the path again, to set achievable goals and to finally feel that you're making progress.’

Ann Brown, Celebrant, Actor/Director

Henrietta asks the difficult questions and probes for those issues and problems that made me feel uncomfortable, but are necessary to find the right solutions. She works incredibly hard to provide the right support and helped me to move on when I was looking for new direction in my career.'

Julie Ingham, Marketing and Communications Manager at National Day Nurseries Association

'Having worked at the sharp-end of national broadcasting, I thought I knew how to handle difficult people. But I was having real problems dealing with an awkward and clingy work associate. So I contacted Henrietta, and it was like viewing my messy dilemma through a crystal-clear mirror. Using deep listening and subtle questioning, Henrietta helped me shine a light on the real issues and come up with my own solution. I liked the fact that she asked me how proactive I wanted her to be, rather than just launching straight in. It was a very bespoke experience. An excellent coach, creating real, tangible results.'

Ian Peacock, Radio and Television Presenter

I found Henrietta's coaching profoundly shifting and valuable. I'd struggled for years with getting any leverage on clutter and hoarding. I was persistently and habitually stuck, and I procrastinated. Henrietta seemed to enable, facilitate and weave a magical conversation that went deep, helped me clarify and shift my thinking, and specifically, help me break through fears. As a direct result, I was motivated to take important actions and steps that I had previously found quite difficult, finally moving me in the right direction.'
