About me
Hi I'm Emma,
A coaching psychologist, having a Masters in Psychology and being a Master Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation, I am passionate about helping and supporting people to become happier and have been doing this for over 18 years. I truly believe when we are happy everything else becomes easier.
Although I work with a wide variety of clients experiencing a range of issues, often they have experienced some form of trauma or adversity, and they have got to the point where they are feeling lost and don't know what to do next, they may have even tried other support and talking therapies and feel that they don't work, however that changes once they work with me.
If this sounds familiar, it may be worth us having a chat and see if I could be the right coach for you.
You could be experiencing any of the following:
- Don't know how to ask for what you want
- Find it really difficult to ask for help
- Have feelings of never being understood
- Afraid to say no, even though you may really want to
- Close to giving up on believing things could be any different
- Many clients say they have lost their spark/mojo
- Feeling alone with this and are looking for a way to move past this and create a different future
By helping you to rediscover who you really are, reconnect with your values and what really matters to you, to find balance and build resilience you'll feel happier, less stressed, make better decisions, have more clarity and have better relationships in all areas of your life.
I do this through powerful bespoke 121 coaching, and through the mental fitness program I deliver. Coaching from the heart, yet with everything I do being based in science, means I create a safe space for you really to be you, free from judgement, giving you the space to explore your greatest fears and your biggest dreams, with a gentle strength I am able to help make addressing the tough stuff that little bit easier, bringing robust, yet gentle challenge and accountability.
Working with teenagers and young people
I really enjoy working with teenagers. They come to coaching with their own unique view of the world and bring a unique creative energy.
They may want to;
- Build confidence
- Overcome Anxiety
- Gain direction (and take the first steps)
- Develop their sense of self and how they can make the most of opportunities
I use a combination of my own personal experiences and years of training to support young people to build healthy coping strategies, have a positive mindset and learn to understand themselves. Nothing makes my heart sing more, it can change their whole future.

Training, qualifications & experience
I trained with the CTI, now known as Co-Active and I am a Master Certified Coach (MCC) with the ICF (International Coach Federation) and a trained positive intelligence coach.
Certified Positive Intelligence Coach (CPQC).
MSc in Psychology.
BSc (Hons) Combined Social Science with Criminology (Open University)
I am also a fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs and founded my own social enterprise.
I have years of experience working as a coach in my own practice, but also in previous roles, working as an outreach worker in the voluntary sector, which is where I started my coaching journey.
Before going on to work with people with Acquired Brain Injuries and with high risk offenders - where I learnt a lot more about the brain and behaviours.
What I also bring is a wealth of personal experience too, something which cannot be taught and which my clients love. As I've been through tough stuff too, it makes clients feel able to open up more easily, they know they will not be judged. I have personally experienced and overcome a traumatic childhood, a serious car accident and lost siblings far too young. I share this in case this is the kind of experience you are looking for, someone with lived experience of what you are going through right now.
My 'happiness' is a testament to the resilience and skills I have built up over the years, you can have this too!

Feedback from individuals
‘What I loved most about working with Emma was the affirmation of me. Why wouldn’t you want to speak to someone who’s totally on your side, who helps you to collate your thoughts and put them together, who helps you to see what you want to achieve in your life.
Emma’s been so supportive, understanding and so open to all the things that were inside me. I never felt challenged telling Emma what was going on. I never had to lie to her. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know what you want to do or if it’s completely different from me. Because of how Emma works, she’s going to be able to help you know yourself.’ - Sue
‘Therapists tend to get you to come to the answers, whereas Emma gives you a bit more nudging. She could almost second guess what I was trying to say so she asked me the questions in a better way to not just get yes or no answers. She made me really think about my answers which in turn got me good results. She’s just very intuitive, got loads of empathy and can really read me. Because we were doing Skype I would pull a face and she’d say: ‘what’s that face?’ or ‘what’s that shrug?’. She could literally read me and her intuition is her gift!’ - Lisa
‘I was aware of a few coaches but I found Emma more approachable and felt comfortable with her. I knew she would be discreet and felt I could work with her in confidence.' George
Feedback from parents:
I get quite emotional thinking about it because you wouldn’t believe the change in her. She’s calmed down and is a much more confident young lady. She feels like she can conquer the world a bit more now and is really positive.’ read more from Victoria and Megan’s story.
‘Emma has brought our beautiful girl back to life, helping her find ways to express her feelings, feel less anxious and lead a happier fulfilling life.’ find out more about Lily and Ruby’s experience.
Feedback from organisations
Emma’s approach is challenging though she uses humour to make it feel like a positive experience which I like. It’s light and most sessions have a humorous element to them. The humour and positivity has been one of the best aspects of working with Emma.’ – Dr Catherine Richards
'Emma brings warmth, personality and passion to what she does. She is truly invested in helping people become happier and gives her all to the task. Nothing about what she does feels transactional, yet she still maintains that delicate balance between the professional and the personal... For anyone looking for ways to encourage their staff to become happier and more productive at work, I would urge them to consider working with Emma.’ Clive - Senior Consultant
‘I didn’t want us to introduce something without being confident in what was involved. I also wanted a better understanding of what coaching means so I could talk to my staff about it. It’s important I’m confident something is worth doing before involving everyone.’
‘When I met Emma, I could see she’s got a person-centred approach. I had an open mind and didn’t have a specific target I wanted to achieve. Although our results were continuing to go up each year, it was a case of, can we do even better? What can we do to look at things with a fresh approach?'
