About me

Are you seeking more satisfaction at work or to build your confidence? Do you feel there are inner barriers that are blocking your success? Would you benefit from a safe and non-judgmental space to talk through your experience and where you can be gently challenged to take positive action?  If the answer is yes, then life coaching may be for you.

I am an accredited Business Psychologist with the Association of Business Psychology and accredited Coach with the Association for Coaching. My focus is to coach people who are looking to achieve greater satisfaction and well-being, particularly at work. Common themes include:

- Building confidence in any area of your work-life, which could be around becoming more assertive, speaking up, sharing ideas or taking positive action to work towards your career aspirations

- Being in alignment with your true identity, values and purpose in order that you can show up as your authentic self

- Managing your energy and maintaining a healthy sense of wellness

- Developing better professional relationships which could be about collaborating with someone you find tricky to work with or managing upwards

- Leading your team including trust building, communication, one to one conversations and feedback

- Decision-making around your career or at work

- General exploration of what is getting in the way of being your best at work

It is likely that you are someone who is already doing pretty well but with an intention, goal or challenge that you would like to work on.  Our work together would start by focusing in on these intentions to understand more clearly what you want to achieve and what may potentially be blocking your progress.

It is very important to me that we work together in partnership to find the approach that fits you best and I have outlined different ways of working below:

Working with the brain: Sometimes the best approach is to explore our thought patterns with a focus on identifying, and possibly challenging or reframing unhelpful beliefs. This can involve cognitive-behavioural or NLP methods.

Working with emotions: Often what we are initially aware of are the emotions triggered by a particular situation, but are not entirely clear on why we feel this way. Understanding our emotions can be useful to help identify the underlying issue and find an effective solution.

Working with our intuition: We can all relate to times we just had an instinct about a particular person or situation, or an inner knowing. Our intuitions hold great wisdom and when used alongside logic of the brain can be a powerful force for change.

Working with the body: Our thoughts and feelings are intimately bound up with our somatic experience including tension, pain or other physical sensation. Exploring these sensations can sometimes be the best way to create awareness and transformation.

Working with the visual or metaphorical mind: Using visualisations or working in a metaphorical way can be an effective approach for tapping into our creativity and our unconscious or sub-conscious mind.

Working with our past self: Exploring our past experiences can be a powerful method to understand how we became the person we are today and identify any experiences that still require processing and resolution. Time-line techniques and working with the inner child are helpful tools that might be used with this approach.

Working with the future self: Thinking about the person we want to be in the future can be a powerful mechanism for building clarity and mobilising our energy for change.

I find that committing to work together for a minimum of 6 sessions provides the most effective experience, as it provides opportunity to dive more deeply into your intentions and find creative resolution. I am available for a free 30-minute exploratory call so please do get in touch if you would like to meet.
