About me
I help deep-thinking, empathic humans, who feel held back by anxiety and self-doubt, to feel more like themselves again — especially in the moments that matter.
Book A Free Discovery Call - if this sounds like you:
You’re thoughtful, self-aware, and good at what you do (even if you sometimes doubt that!).
But in certain moments, something wobbles.
You start to feel anxious, exposed, and unsure of yourself —
like you might get it wrong, or be judged as not good enough.
You hold back. Ruminate. Question yourself.
Wondering if there's someting wrong with you.
I know this feeling very well.
As a former NHS doctor and university lecturer, I've worked in many over-stretched and occasionally toxic environments.
I've experienced workplace bullying and burnout, and the long-term effect they have on your confidence.
And I've spent over a decade training healthcare students how to listen, empathise, and handle heavy emotions with compassion and skill.
So I bring all this to my coaching, which is a place you can come to, to feel deeply heard.
Where every part of you is welcome.
And valued.
And listened to.
Where we gently explore what's behind the overwhelm, the self-doubt, the anxiety.
And create conditions where you can begin to let go of old beliefs and envision your life the way you wish it could be.
And turn that into a reality.
Where you meet yourself with compassion and allow your anxieties to be heard rather than marginalised.
Where you feel like yourself again - confident, relaxed and happy.
Taking the lead in your own life.
Taking things in your stride.
Having an impact in the work that you do.
And showing up as the fullest version of you in your personal life too.

What Is Psychotherapeutically-Informed Coaching?
Coaching differs from therapy because coaching is future-focussed - centred on creating change.
I offer coaching which is infused with the following approaches:
- IFS (Internal Family Systesm). I am an IFS-Informed Coach (trained with the IFS Institute).
- IFS :
- is 'parts work'.
- invites you to understand the different perspectives of different parts of you. Parts like:
- inner critics
- inner children
- controlling parts
- scrolling and avoiding parts
- and many many more!
- cultivates compassion for all our parts.
- encourages understanding of the fears behind difficulties.
- IFS :
- Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC - I'm an MSC Teacher trained with Sussex Mindfulness Centre).
- This blends beautifully with IFS.
- Enabling you to build compassion for yourself.
- Including motivating yourself with compassion rather than criticism.
- Transformational Life Coaching (trained with Animas Centre for Coaching and credentialed with the International Coaching Federation).
- Using multiple different appraoches (humanistic, cognitive behavioural, transactional analysis, narrative coaching).
- Explores and shifts the deeper emotional stuff keeping you stuck in frustrating patterns.

Another Past Client:
“Coaching with Miriam did exactly what I wanted it to do. I came feeling stuck, lacking confidence and anxious about achieving what I wanted. The sessions helped me see where that was coming from — and that I didn’t need to hold on to all those worries. It wasn’t a quick fix, but it created a real shift in how I think about myself and how I respond to the world. I’ve reconnected with my creativity and confidence, and I feel more able to lead and trust myself.
Miriam is a very skilled listener, and I always came away feeling supported and positive. The skills and knowledge she shared have been really helpful” - Sophie, Performing Arts Creative

Testimonials for Coaching:
"Coaching with Miriam has made a huge difference to my life over the last two years. It’s so easy to feel comfortable around Miriam, I feel safe and calm in our sessions, I never feel time pressured or judged. Miriam asks really insightful questions that help me process things and understand myself more.
I feel so much more emotionally resilient and confident since coaching and have met so many of my goals that I didn’t always believe I would! Miriam often sends useful resources or reading to help me in between sessions and I’ve also found I am more measured when I come across challenges in between sessions because I try to ask myself the sorts of questions she asks me. I’ve learned so much and think everyone should have coaching!" - Beth, teacher.
"This was my second set of coaching with Miriam. I find coaching gives me the opportunity to step back from life and reflect & work on myself & my priorities. Coaching for me is a key tool for self-care. It helps me look inward, challenges my previous thinking and behaviour helping me make positive changes. Coaching spans all aspects of life; personal, career, social etc. because they’re connected. This gives huge scope of what you can work on. It’s a safe space free of judgement, helping to make positive changes. I highly recommend Miriam as a coach." - Angie, healthcare professional.
“Miriam was brilliant from beginning to end, she gave a balanced non judgemental approach in her coaching style. I always felt completely at ease, she has a relaxed style and this enabled me to talk honestly. By working together with me, Miriam helped me to look at my behaviours, themes in my life and the choices I was making. Some of these realisations were completely different to why I had started the coaching, but that had a profound and lasting affect on me.
I since have been motivated to push my business forward and not give up, succeeding in getting to where I wanted it to be.
In this period I also started to look introspectively at self care and started to make changes in my health and fitness. These positive changes undoubtedly have come from the coaching with Miriam, I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to change and help themselves for whatever that might be.” - Louise, creative.
"Before I started doing this coaching I was feeling a bit stuck, like something needed to change in my life but I wasn’t sure what.
The coaching gave me a greater understanding of where these feelings were coming from. Understanding feelings of shame, and where these were coming from made a huge impact. I was able to let go of feelings of shame that I didn ‘t even necessarily realise I was carrying by identifying them and discussing them with Miriam.
She led me through the coaching really sensitively, and helped me identify where my issues were. She knew when to encourage cathartic moments, and when to hold back.
I nearly didn’t sign up for coaching because I didn’t quite know what I wanted, except that I wanted things to change in certain areas of my life. It felt difficult going into the sessions without a really clear idea of what I wanted out of them.
But I’m so glad I did because Miriam enabled me to identify areas that these feelings were coming from, helped me challenge them and move through them. This has made a difference in my every day life, and I feel generally more content.
What I would say to anyone who is thinking of starting coaching and has the same worry: You don’t need to know exactly what you need from the sessions, Miriam is very good at exploring things with you to help identify areas to work on." - Anonymous, GP (she/her, 40s)
Testimonial for Confidence & Clarity Sessions:
"Yes I would recommend this - the session delivered what it intended to do- namely increase my confidence and clarity. Miriam was non- judgemental, friendly and accommodating. She was very perceptive and accurately reflected and summarised a large number of issues raised.
This enabled me to prioritise areas I want to work on and increase my motivation to address these. Miriam offered a holistic approach to help with this, which appealed to me.
I nearly didn’t sign up to this because of anxiety around vulnerability, but I’m so glad I did because I found the session extremely helpful in terms of enabling me to prioritise issues and strategies
What I would say to anyone who is thinking of trying this out and has the same worry:
Miriam provided an outline of the session, which felt extremely safe. The initial session includes an introduction to coaching and to the way Miriam works." - Andrea, London
