Lucy Stanyer Life Coach
What is coaching? Well, it’s all about you. Helping you to succeed and to increase your confidence.
Coaching with me is about getting the very best out of you - enabling you to make decisions and positive changes to your life, business or work.
- Do you have a small business or freelance career that you’d like to grow but see obstacles in your way? Do you need a ‘critical friend’ to help you get unstuck and increase your motivation?
- Are you dissatisfied with your job, looking for a career change or been made redundant? Is work affecting your relationships? Would you like to feel less stressed and improve your work/life balance?
- Are you an overwhelmed new mum feeling lost in a sea of parenting advice or a mum with anxiety about returning to work?
- Are you looking for help with your personal development? Do you want to prioritise your health and boost your energy? Or are you simply at a crossroads in your life?
Coaching with me can help you take a step back and refocus. I can help you understand what you really want, set meaningful goals and feel confident about achieving them.

My coaching approach supports the individual to maximise their strengths, skills and confidence and feel motivated to make positive change. I believe in people's potential to achieve more than they thought they could.
I coach people in work to help them with their career, people who have their own business, freelance career or want to start a business, as well as new mums who have returned to work and found that their job, and their feelings, have changed. One client left his job and started a business in 8 weeks!

What people say about my coaching
“I thoroughly enjoyed our time working together in helping me to plan a course for my career path. Without this I don’t feel I would have had enough courage or confidence to embark on a completely new way of working, and would probably have moved from one career that I wasn’t enjoying into another one just because it was the ‘safe’ option. This whole process was the key in making the change possible and I would recommend you to anybody that is in a position where they need change in their life. Many many thanks.”
MT, Kent (Small business start up coaching)
“I sought out life coaching because I felt a bit stuck. I was due to return to work after having a baby, but the job was dull and left me deflated and frustrated. You pointed out how many times in our sessions I would say ‘in an ideal world, I’d do XYZ..’ and that in reality, there was no reason why I couldn’t try and pursue those goals.
"The changes I’ve made as a result of the coaching are things I probably could have done years ago but wasn’t brave enough, but having you there to hold my hand but also challenge me to push my boundaries has been so helpful. I’m proud of myself for actually *doing* those things, rather than just wishing I could. And I definitely have you to thank for that. I really hope that I stick to the lessons I’ve learned in our sessions, and fingers crossed that this year will be one I look back on as a turning point in my life.”
AN, Surrey (Life and Career coaching)
"A fabulous experience. Business coaching with you was a bit like working with a sensible big sister (without the arguments!). You set me (often challenging) tasks and I committed to getting the job done. It was helpful to also have an impartial input into my business, which made me look at things afresh. I like the way that you are unassumingly focused and gave me a “push” me to expand my horizons and move forward with my business. At last I can understand the benefit of making time to work on my business and not just in it. I shall be back for some more sessions in the new year!!"
JD, Faversham, Kent (Small business coaching)
“Thanks for all the advice Lucy! Hugely valued. Especially where we spoke about design briefs and you pointed out I had done lots of photography briefs and had transferable skills in this area. I used that to my advantage in the interview so I hope it's evidence enough I can do the job! Fingers crossed. You are a great coach.”
VP, London (Interview preparation coaching)
“By becoming more focused I am more determined to achieve my goals. This means I am not wasting time on career elements that are not important and saving time by focusing on what matters to me. It also allows me to not get upset/angry at the smaller things that have a negative impact on me in the working environment and to remain focused on the longer term goals I have.”

What my clients say about my coaching
“I appreciated talking to someone in a similar situation. New business, mum to a toddler. That meant there was a lot of synergy before we even got started. And you understood my needs brilliantly! You know the pressures of leaving a secure job, starting up your own business and having a small child at home. I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a friendly professional accountability business coach.”
Michelle Gyimah, Owner of Equality Pays, Manchester (Small business coaching)
“My mind works very quickly and often thinks a number of steps ahead. Through listening to my brief, you responded in terms that I understood and kept me motivated and moving through the plan.”
NJ, Kent (Career Coaching)
“We met for coffee and got on – I wasn’t intimidated by you, I was impressed by your professionalism. A happy mix of you being approachable and confident about what you had to offer me. I thought your services were well priced and presented an opportunity not to be missed."
JD, Kent (Small business coaching)
“I wanted to have a long term plan for my career change and I came to a conclusion after three researching different job possibilities. The exercises you gave me were very good to start to find out where I was at and where I needed to go. And as you have a young family, you totally understood me.”
NR, Essex (Career Change Coaching)
“Having my coaching sessions has motivated me, and helped me to appreciate the good things in my life. I feel more positive now.”
PD, Faversham (Life Coaching)
“I didn’t feel rushed, but at the same time you moved things along so we made progress at each session. The style was quite informal, which worked well for me and probably meant that I opened up a bit more.”
AN, Surrey (Career coaching)
“Even before our first session you asked about my preferred style, and since then have used this method throughout all the stages of this process. You accommodated my pace very well by being flexible with our session dates. Initially these were weekly, and this was very appropriate at the early stage of the life coaching process. As time progressed, there was a need to increase the time between sessions to allow me the time to implement the ideas and processes that we had discussed.”
