About me

When we're dealing with personal or professional challenges or pressures, it is all too easy to become stressed out, worn down and stuck in our situation – feeling as if we are just surviving day-to-day, rather than living our lives to the full.

Over time, this can take its toll on our happiness, self-belief and even our sense of who we are. It can also affect our relationships with loved ones, reduce our effectiveness at work or home – and stop us from achieving important goals.

It may even increase our risk of developing longer-term mental health issues – something that should be prevented wherever possible.

Therefore, through professional and accredited coaching, I help you get back on track in demanding times – enabling you to find calm, reclaim control and move forward on your terms.

I’ll also help you build a toolkit of strategies to boost your confidence, coping skills and resilience – leaving you better equipped to navigate whatever life throws at you, both now and in the future.

And, we'll also figure out what a 'good life' looks like to you moving forward - and put in place practical and realistic steps to help you achieve your aims.

How will you benefit from coaching?

Amongst many other things, coaching can help you:

  • Boost your well-being and resilience – safeguarding your mental health and helping you thrive.
  • Harness your own, strengths and capabilities - increasing your belief in yourself and your ability to cope in any situation.
  • See yourself in new, more helpful ways – tackling negative, self-critical or ‘Imposter Syndrome’ thinking head-on and supercharging your self-confidence.
  • Identify what’s important to you – so you are clear about your values and priorities and can use these to guide the way when you feel lost, stuck or uncertain.

What can you expect from our coaching sessions?

Although it may seem daunting, coaching is simply a series of tailored-to-you conversations in which we work together on your level to help you live better in demanding times.

To do this, we start by untangling what’s currently going on in your life – so we can see your circumstances more clearly and understand how you'd like things to change.

We then develop a plan of action – using proven, evidence-based tools and strategies to help you negotiate your circumstances effectively, and move forward in ways that are right for you.

Not sure whether coaching is right for you?

Coaching is:

  • Forward facing - instead of focusing on the past, we'll look at where you are now, as well as where you'd like to be. This doesn't mean that past events won’t be considered – but only if they are relevant to helping you get to where you want to go.
  • Directed by you – you know yourself and your life better than anyone. Therefore, I don't tell you what to do, prescribe advice or push you in any particular direction. Instead, I help you unpick your circumstances on your terms and find effective strategies for tackling them that are right for you.
  • Not about 'fixing' you or your situation – instead, I help you tap into and supercharge your own coping resources and resilience, enabling you to build the skills you need to ‘self-coach’ yourself effectively through both current and future setbacks, difficulties or pressures.
  • Not the same as counselling or therapy - whilst coaching supports your psychological well-being and helps you to manage stressors in ways that serve you, it does not offer treatment for mental health issues. Therefore, if you are experiencing severe or ongoing depression or anxiety, or have recently experienced traumatic events, it is important that you initially seek support from your GP or a mental health/counselling professional in the first instance.

The practicalities

I currently offer face-to-face appointments from the Beacon Clinic  - ideally situated if you live in Malvern, Worcester, Ledbury, Upton-upon-Severn, Tewkesbury or any areas in between. For your convenience, I also offer online coaching sessions via Zoom to give you maximum flexibility and choice, and making our sessions more accessible.

To make sure that coaching is right for you, I also offer a free 30-minute introductory consultation (via Zoom). This will give you a good idea about how I can support you – enabling you to make an informed decision before you commit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a professionally trained coach and mentor, having studied at the University of Warwick, and I also hold a first-class honours degree in Social Psychology. I am accredited at Practitioner level by the European Coaching and Mentoring Council (EMCC) and am also a member of the British Psychological Society's Division of Coaching Psychology.

Alongside specialised training in well-being, psychological resilience and stress management, I am also a qualified Mindfulness Teacher (British Psychological Society approved training course). I therefore offer mindfulness skills training within my practice to help you find calm, perspective and space, regardless of what’s currently going on in your life. (For details of my qualifications & training, please see below.)

Since 2017, I have been privileged to work with both young people and adults from varying backgrounds and with different life experiences, including neurodivergent clients. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond, I have also been a coaching practitioner for the not-for-profit organisation Project5 - supporting the well-being and resilience of NHS staff at all levels in extremely challenging times. I am passionate about coaching and its power to change people’s lives in hugely positive ways, and this is what motivates me to do what I do.

Professional Standards and Code of Ethics

My practice is underpinned by the EMCC’s Global Code of Ethics - which promotes best practice and the highest professional standards in coaching and mentoring across the globe (for further details, please visit emccuk.org/pdf).

I receive a minimum of 1.5 hours supervision with an accredited Coaching Supervisor each month, and I also hold an enhanced DBS check.

What other lovely people say

"Kerry has helped me enormously through our coaching sessions. We have tackled so many issues: imposter syndrome, letting go of the need for control, identifying my own strengths and using these effectively, creating a more sustainable work life balance, saying 'no' and mindfulness techniques. I felt completely at ease and able to be open and honest throughout. I am now calmer at home and more confident at work. Thank you." - G.P. Partner

"Thank you so very much for all of your help. I really benefited from it... I would not even think twice about working with you again." - Clinical Psychologist
