About me

Confidence, Career, Personal Development & Executive Coaching
Helping people develop their Inner Compass for life and work, navigating change with confidence, compassion and clarity.

Hello, I'm Lou. I founded elementas Coaching & Consulting (2011) to live and work well, to flourish and help others to do so too.

For over 30 years I've been helping young adults, professionals, leaders and business owners navigate career decisions, leadership challenges and life's important transitions.

People often come to me when they are experiencing a lack of clarity, a loss of confidence or motivation in their career, facing change or uncertainty, feeling the pressures of work and leadership, or simply sensing that something needs to change.

People often come to me when they are experiencing a lack of clarity, a loss of confidence or motivation in their career, facing change or uncertainty, health challenges, feeling the pressures of work and leadership, or simply sensing that something needs to change. Whilst I am not an expert in ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety or depression, my experience of studying and practising alongside people with different lived experiences, together with my training in Mindful Self-Compassion, enables me to work compassionately with clients who may be experiencing these challenges; helping them develop greater self-awareness, confidence and practical ways to navigate work and life.

Coaching offers a space to pause, reflect and reconnect with what matters. Together, we explore where you are now, where you would like to be and the practical steps that can help you move forward.

My approach combines traditional coaching with evidence-informed mindfulness and compassionate self-leadership. At the heart of this is what I call your Inner Compass; the confidence, self-awareness, emotional resilience and inner wisdom that can help you navigate work and life with greater clarity and purpose.

I hold an MSc in Studies in Mindfulness from the University of Aberdeen, where my research pilot explored how Mindful Self-Compassion can strengthen resilience, wellbeing and self-leadership in business leaders. This research continues to inform my coaching, alongside more than 30 years of practical business, leadership and life experience.

I hold an MSc in Studies in Mindfulness from the University of Aberdeen, where my research explored how Mindful Self-Compassion can strengthen resilience, wellbeing and self-leadership in business leaders.

I have practised mindfulness and compassion for over ten years with the Mindfulness Association, enabling me to weave practices into coaching to support you on your journey. Business, Leadership & Career Development

Before establishing elementas Coaching & Consulting in 2011, I worked across the public, private and voluntary sectors in business, marketing and leadership.

As a Chartered Marketer, Executive Coach and Business Mentor, I bring strategic thinking and practical commercial experience to my coaching. Having led teams, developed people and worked through organisational change, I understand many of the realities behind career progression, leadership, difficult decisions and balancing professional responsibilities with personal wellbeing as we navigate today's world.

Young People, Education & Community

I bring extensive experience of supporting young people through education, employability and personal development to my coaching.

Alongside co-designing education programmes for museums and volunteering with young people in Bolivia and Mongolia, I have gratefully participated in four Erasmus+ international projects exploring wellbeing, resilience and non-formal learning, and mentored entrepreneurs through the Boost Lancashire Business Growth Hub.

These varied experiences continue to shape my belief that confidence, compassion, resilience and self-awareness are lifelong skills that can be developed in work, life and play.
