Self-love and wholeness
I have chosen an animation by Jaggi Vasudev to explore self-love and wholeness, more commonly known as Sadhguru, an Indian Yogi, Mystic and New York Times bestselling author.
His animation illustrates and illuminates perfectly the journey of self-love and how this translates to the universal love of others, nature and beyond.
The animation by Sadhguru touched me deeply by its sheer simplicity and power:
"Love is not a relationship, it is a certain sweetness of your emotion."
"Love is not something that you do it is something that you can become."
Let me be clear though, I am not damning romantic love as it is a potent and beautiful part of life and living, but I must caution, romanticism is a worthy pursuit providing you do not love from a place of need or scarcity.
Scarcity and need are emotions fuelled by the ego and the lesser self, their only purpose is to bring you to a place of emptiness and disconnect. This type of love never fills voids it simply makes the void bigger.
It is vital to be in a secure place within yourself when searching for love or you risk losing yourself in the identity of another and falling into poor relationship dynamics.
My wish for all peoples, regardless of relationship status, is that you always aspire to a healthy self-love that is selfless, respectful, trusting, non-judgemental and with allowance, this type of love expands and creates more love as a result.
How will love yourself more today and every day?
