Our editorial process

Coaching can have an incredible impact on people’s lives. It is our mission to help people understand what coaching is, how it can help and connect them with the right coach for them. We do this by creating and sharing information that highlights:

  • concerns coaching can help with
  • the different styles of coaching
  • what coaching looks like and how to find a coach

This information can be found across our site, including the Coaching A-Z section, the Coaching styles section and the Expert articles section. We create content in video form too, as well as audio downloads and PDFs.

How we create our content

Our highly skilled editorial team takes responsibility for the information on our site. They predominantly write our information pages, while our trusted members (the coaches who advertise with us) write pieces for our articles section.

The team often collaborates with our members, utilising their expertise to review our content. In turn, the team supports our members by proofreading, editing and guiding the articles they write. This co-operation leads to work that is expert-led and engaging to those who visit our site.

For all content production, we follow a honed process to ensure the right research has been carried out, SEO best practices have been observed and that proofreading has taken place to avoid error.

Our editorial standards

Whether we are writing a webpage or making a video, our editorial standards see us:

  • using language that is clear and jargon-free
  • employing sensitivity towards topics as needed
  • being inclusive to all
  • maintaining accuracy

The editorial team stays on top of the latest research within the coaching industry and reviews our information regularly to ensure it stays up-to-date and relevant. Any feedback we receive is welcome. We capture the feedback and explore if changes are needed in response. The team is continuously learning more to improve their craft and understand how best to spread the message of how coaching can help.

Writing and editorial style

We want to encourage visitors to our site that change is possible and that help is available. This means we take a friendly and positive tone with our writing, demonstrating empathy and understanding. We are clear in our writing style, helping readers understand what coaching is all about and what it can offer.

As mentioned above, inclusivity is important to us as we know how impactful coaching can be to all types of clients. We, therefore, use inclusive language throughout our content.

Use of imagery

Images used throughout the site are chosen carefully and used with intention. We pick images that reflect our diverse society and are relatable to a broad audience.

We are also aware of image guidelines for certain topics and ensure the editorial team is trained on any advances or changes in recommendations.

What’s our stance on AI?

AI is starting to integrate more and more into our everyday lives, but what is its role in information production? Our approach is to see it for the tool that it is, helping assist with certain stages of information production, but not using it to create the information.

We take a human-first approach, with human intervention (and innovation) at every step of the process. Learn more about our AI policy
