Dr Tarek Jomaa coaching has been a great discovery. As I started my new post, I was invited to attend a series of meeting about leadership. Not fully aware of what it was, I started this training. After the first session it was clear that this was indeed much necessary to develop my skills as “manager”. Over the short period I found that Dr Jomaa was able to guide me through my first challenges as manager while allowing to come to the right answers myself or discovering habits and/or behaviour that I have. Even if it was a short coaching journey it has already made an impact on myself. I will recommend to everyone who is approaching a managerial role and to everyone that want to establish more meaningful relationship with peers.
Prof. Michael Sweet
Dr Jomaa’s coaching sessions are a game changer. They really help you explore all aspects of who you are and what you are doing. In my case we looked at improving my ability to manage and I would recommend all managers (what ever the level) to attend/sign up for some sessions. He will help you build on your own experiences (the good and the bad). He’ll help you understand the mind and actions of others and put a heap of theory into what you’ve experienced. He is a true legend and I’m now happy to say he’s also a friend after our 6 sessions. I can’t recommend him highly enough. Indeed he now coaches multiple members of my team from PhD students to early career researchers.
Prof. Sian Davies-Vollum (Deputy Dean, Faculty Arts, Science, Technology at University of Northampton): I worked with Tarek on leadership coaching. I found the experience invaluable to reflect on my leadership style and contextualise my experiences in leadership practice and theory.
Marc Evenisse (CEO et Président Furion , Président Le Mans Tech): Tarek has been invaluable in many delicate situations in the life of an entrepreneur. He is very attentive to your needs and adapts to a variety of contexts. He also has the ability to ask the right questions and make you get the best out of yourself. A chance to work with him! Marc
Cath Taylor ( Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University) : The experience enabled me to grow as an individual and ultimately led me to pursue my career goals successfully. My self-esteem and self-efficacy improved massively throughout the coaching sessions... Tarek is a fantastic coach with great capacity to facilitate positive change, creating a trusting environment through excellent listening skills, empathy and effective questioning to empower individuals to reach positive outcomes. I will forever be grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Tarek and Jomaa Coaching, as it helped me achieve my goals to move in a new direction professionally! It could change your life too, so I recommend it! Thank you for the opportunity!
Cecilia Goria ( Associate Professor, Digital Learning Director · University of Nottingham): I highly recommend following a coaching programme with Tarek. I had an insightful experience, I learned to reflect critically on leadership principles and practice and fully achieved my goals. The sessions with Tarek were remarkably productive based on open dialogue and on carefully balancing questions and answers to address the issues at hand. Highly recommended.
************************ My Brief Story **************************
A long time ago – before committing to coaching – I occupied various engineering and management roles across the aeronautics, automotive and motorsports sectors. As an expert with a PhD in vehicle dynamics and suspension design, I led interesting projects including LMP1 for the 24 hours of Le Mans, prototypes for the VdeV championship and Touring cars for TCR.
This experience helped me develop coaching expertise in enhancing teams’ effectiveness, increasing focus and delivering high-performance outcomes under stress.
Higher Education Background
I discovered my passion and enthusiasm for supporting others – through coaching, mentoring and teaching – during a dinner with co-workers in Itlay back in 2017, where I spent the evening writing on napkins to explain some misconceptions about vehicle dynamics.
I still consider that evening to be a game changer; It is when I took a different path and moved to England to start my journey in higher education as a senior lecturer and programme leader for motorsport engineering.
In November 2022, I obtained my title as Senior Fellow of Advance-He (SFHEA)which is a celebration and solid recognition of my impact on higher education through transforming the motorsport engineering curriculum (case study 1) and embedding coaching across the wide spectrum of HE ( case study 2).
Through the years I developed coaching expertise in leadership, change management and transformation, with an emphasis on students’ learning experience in HE.
I learned a lot from my inner conflicts – Inner Game – and from my journey as a leader which I would love to share with you. One thing for sure is that it challenged me to rediscover and reinvent myself where I successfully obtained my EMCC Global EIA accreditation at Senior Practitioner in coaching and mentoring.
No matter what leadership role you hold or barriers you face, I support and challenge you to rediscover yourself and better understand the interferences standing between your actual performance and true potential.
My coaching approach is mainly inspired by Timothy Gallwey, where I work with you on understanding your inner conflict and “Mastering Your Inner Game”.
