About me

Creative Life Support for you and your business

I have worked for 30 years in the arts, charity and creative industries. My specialist areas in professional business are project management, marketing, fundraising and new brand development. If you are pretty sure you don't want to stay "here", and need help identifying, exploring and reaching "there" then get in touch. I love to share the journey.

I have worked across the UK as well as in Berlin, Mexico, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Seoul, Moscow and with small and medium enterprises ($1-£6m projects) in many European countries. I continue to teach marketing, fundraising and management modules at MA level, and work internationally to help make business connections trans-nationally.

My move to coaching follows 7 years of mentor/guiding emerging entrepreneurs and creative business managers. With the supportive training of The Coaching Academy I have gained new tools, and greater understanding of how to help individuals and business leaders as they consider one core question:

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do /with your one wild and precious life?” to quote the poet Mary Oliver.

My current clients range from returning corporate executives in Scotland, legal sole practitioners in Suffolk, osteopaths in London, homeopathic healers in Cornwall, copywriters in Australia, and a singer/record producer in San Francisco. Each wish to move their life, their career, their projects forward from "here" to "there" - together we explore what, where & how.

My questions to Chris were: Where to go from now? I think I know what I want to do but I’m not sure if I can do it? Chris response was to help me asses where I am now and be clear on what my goal is. The result: I believe I can achieve my goal, have a clear action plan of how to work towards it and most importantly an abundance of confidence. “ RJ / Dance Company Feb 14

It’s rare to find someone who makes listening into an art form. Immediately from my first session with Chris Grady I felt heard, understood and guided to become more effective, creative and happy in my life, my art, and my professional work.” SU / Social Enterprise Nov 13

My new e-book "The Anatomy of your Creativity" is commissioned by Bookboon for business managers and leaders, offering an array of practical tools for individual resiliance and business growth. I look forward to sharing this with you.

My son, Michael Grady Hall, is an actor, trained at RADA and with a growing number of National Theatre and RSC credits. My daughter, Anna, works for Stonewall in individual giving having previously been with the Prince's Trust in fundraising communications and spent a year working at the Calais Refugee camp

Kath and I are based in Scotland (Blackness, West Lothian) and London (Clapham North) and spend glorious time co-ordinating our diaries as we criss-cross the country, and check in to railway stations.

My book "Your Life in Theatre" a self-help careers guide for anyone in the creative industries at any stage of their life is being well reviewed and enjoyed. I continue fortnightly blogs which may form the basis of book 2 [...dear other coaches...this is a parked idea, not a Goal yet]. "The Anatomy of My Creativity" is a short e-book which came out mid 2016.

I benefit from coaching myself, and continue to be delighted by the richness of my encounters with fascinating people.
