About me

Hi, I’m Zoe, an accredited life coach and founder of Retrouve Coaching. I support professional working mums who are navigating the teenage years for the first time and finding it difficult to balance the demands of work, parenting and their own wellbeing.

Parenting a teenager can bring a whole new set of challenges. The relationship changes, emotions can run high and the expectations of work and family life can sometimes feel relentless. It can be difficult to know when to step in, when to step back and, in the middle of it all, where you fit into the picture.

I help working mums to:

  • Feel calmer and better able to manage stress and overwhelm
  • Gain clarity about what they need and what they can control
  • Build confidence in how they respond to challenging situations
  • Develop healthier boundaries and habits
  • Strengthen their connection with themselves and their teenager
  • Create more balance between work, family and their own wellbeing

My coaching is centred around three key areas: Calm • Clarity • Connection.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work and family life, struggling with the changes that come with having a teenager, or simply feeling that you have lost sight of yourself along the way, coaching provides a space to pause, reflect and explore what you need.

Together, we can make sense of what is happening, identify what is within your control, explore different ways of responding and take practical steps towards feeling calmer, clearer and more connected.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Accredited Life Coach (AC), 2026
  • Diploma in Life Coaching, The Coaching Academy, 2025
  • CPD: Holistic and Wellbeing Coaching
  • TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (RQF)

I am a qualified and accredited life coach with 27 years’ experience in secondary education, where I have worked with children, young people and families in a variety of roles.

My experience has given me a deep understanding of the teenage years and the challenges that can arise as children become more independent, relationships change and parents navigate a very different stage of family life.

Alongside my coaching practice, I continue to work part time in education. This keeps me connected to the realities of school and family life and gives me an ongoing understanding of the pressures experienced by young people and their parents.

As well as my professional experience, I am a parent of two older children and have experienced the changing demands of parenting as children grow into young adults. I understand first-hand how parenting can evolve through the teenage years, alongside the demands of work, family life and the need to find space for yourself.

My coaching training has developed my skills in active listening, powerful questioning, reflective practice and supporting clients to identify their own solutions and make sustainable changes. My counselling skills training further supports my ability to listen with empathy and create a safe, non-judgemental space for clients.

I have also undertaken continuing professional development in holistic and wellbeing coaching, alongside ongoing learning, professional coaching supervision and development in areas including stress, anxiety and emotional regulation.

My approach is supportive, practical and non-judgemental. I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to provide the space, questions, tools and support to help you gain perspective, understand what you need and make changes that work for you.

I bring together my professional coaching training, almost three decades of experience in education, counselling skills and my own experience as a parent to support working mums through the teenage years.

Further information

I understand how easy it can be for mums to put themselves at the bottom of the list.

When you are managing a career, family life and the ever-changing needs of a teenager, there can be very little time or headspace left for you. You may know that something needs to change, but not have the time, energy or clarity to work out what that change should look like.

Coaching gives you the opportunity to press pause.

My coaching is a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is going on without having to worry about being judged or having someone tell you what you should do.

I don't believe in giving parents a list of rules for how to deal with teenagers. Every family is different. Instead, I help you understand yourself, your responses and your needs, so that you can make choices that feel right for you and your family.

My Calm Pathway brings together four stages:

Reset • Regulate • Reframe • Reconnect

Through this process, we explore practical ways to manage stress, regulate your emotions, challenge unhelpful thinking and strengthen your connection with yourself and your teenager.

You don't have to become a different person or a perfect parent. The aim is to help you feel more like yourself again – calmer, clearer and more connected.

Workshops

Alongside one-to-one coaching, I also run practical online workshops focused on stress, anxiety and emotional wellbeing.

My workshop, Managing Stress & Anxiety: Your Pathway to a Calmer You, provides a supportive space to understand stress, recognise how it can affect us and learn practical, evidence-based tools to help regulate your nervous system and feel calmer.

The workshops are friendly, accessible and interactive, combining reflection with practical techniques that can be used in everyday life. They are open to anyone who would like to understand their stress more clearly and develop practical ways of managing it.

These workshops run monthly and are advertised on Eventbrite and through my social media channels.
