About me

I'm a qualified coach specialising in grief and bereavement, trauma and end of life stages. I am able to offer coaching to adults, couples, families and groups, both in person and online.

Struggling with grief can be a very lonely time. Friends and family often feel distant and you feel unable to connect with others in your life. We all encounter grief during our lives. We fear death and grief that comes with loss. As a grief coach I help you to explore your feelings and the wide ranging emotions that are coursing through you. The sudden changes of your feelings can feel like you are on a roller-coaster and your sanity is at risk.

I work with you to find your new relationship the person or companion animal that has died. It is a difficult and confusing time and you don’t need to walk alone during this time.

I’ll help you to remember that “Grief is love, with nowhere to go”.  You are not broken! You are building a new relationship with your loss.

Terminal Cancer and End of Life Support

Hearing the word cancer when taking to your doctor can be one of the most scariest words you’ll hear.  You mind might of switched off when you first hear that word uttered!

If you have been given an terminal diagnoses your world flips upside down.  Common questions people ask:

  • What does it mean for me and my family?
  • What happens next?
  • Is terminal cancer always terminal?
  • Will it be painful?
  • How long do I have?

As a specialist in End of Life Coaching I can help you to explore your feelings around your diagnoses to help you to create a plan for living.  Just as important is to be able to talk to your loved ones about what you wish to happen during and after your treatment.  I can help you to express your wishes and support you and your loved ones in that conversation.

What you can expect from me

I will walk alongside you, helping to fully experience your turbulent emotions in caring safe and brave space.  Allowing you to explore them in all of their depth. They say time heals all wounds. This is not always true. You sometimes have to witness and be witnessed even your darkest of feelings. This is especially true when you grieve.  You need to work through all the complexities. I will be there at your side riding your roller-coaster.

I will help you explore your changing relationship with the person or companion animal who has past.

I will walk alongside you in the wilderness of your grief. I will be your companion visiting those places where even your closest friends and family are unable to accompany you. Helping untangle the myriad of feeling and emotions that overwhelm you. Ride with you on the roller-coaster of ups and downs, the confusion, anger and more.

You are not broken.  You are grieving!

Working with women and grief

Grief does not have a timeline! If fact grief never ends! Sorry to tell you that! However, together we will find your new relationship with your loss. You many feel abandonment, let and isolated from your friends and family. They may have moved on and think you should have too. Sadly this happens all to often. Grief has no time scale. Working with you I shall help you to make sense of your emotions in all of the rich complexity. Together we will build a new relationship with your loss.

Working with men and grief

Our culture is not good at encouraging men to freely express their emotions. Men are raised to hide their vulnerability to be strong with everything that life throws that you. To be the rock and bury your pain. Yet to grieve well you need to encounter your vulnerable self.  It is a strong and brave act to acknowledge what you are feeling and embrace it. Explore it and learn who you are

As your coach I offer you a safe and brave space. A place where you can explore your feelings and emotions free from judgement. Grief has a way of escaping if it is buried.  It will come out in an uncontrolled form if left to its own! Time alone does not heal all. Active mourning, be brave and model healthy mourning is a way for you to find your new normal.

Loss of pets and companion animals

The grief that dare not share its name. We build incredibly strong bonds with the animals we share our lives with. We are the whole of their lives and they are a part of ours. They depend on you to care for them and to provide for their every need. When they go they leave a massive hole in your life. You have a right to grieve and mourn your loss of such a special being that has left your life. No one has the right to diminish your feelings around your pet that you gave part of your heart too.

I offer grief support for

  • Anticipatory grief
    • Grief that starts before the loss
    • A grief that may arise if you have received a life limiting diagnoses
  • Death of a loved one
