About me
We don’t need to be in distress to seek support and this is where coaching fits into my practice. Wellbeing is all about living well and feeling good; if something is getting in the way of your wellbeing I want to help you change that. What do you want to change?
I have been in private practice for many years, helping people change. Originally I practiced solely as a psychotherapist but some while ago I recognised how some clients benefitted from a less therapeutic approach and made better progress with a coaching model of support. Consequently, I expanded my offer to explicitly include coaching. My NHS accredited wellbeing life coach training complemented my already extensive training and experience as a therapist.
It may be that a multidisciplinary approach will best suit your needs which is when therapeutic coaching can help. Clients who want to change their relationship with food or alcohol (or both) find this model of working particularly successful. Therapeutic coaching combines the empathic understanding and expert knowledge I bring as a psychotherapist with the outcome solution-oriented support I provide as coach. With this approach I will help you to make those difficult changes in sustainable ways, avoiding relapse in the future.
I am an ethical, evidence-based practitioner. Although it doesn’t appear in this coaching focused listing, my principal professional membership organisation, the BACP, unlike coaching bodies, is accredited and meets the criteria of the Professional Standards Authority. I adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework for psychotherapists, counsellors, and coaches. I work within my competencies and uphold the values, principles, and personal moral qualities the framework provides this scaffolding supports my work with all clients.

Further information
I receive monthly supervision with a qualified, experienced supervisor who provides me with assistance and guidance. My supervisor supports me to work to the highest standards in order to provide you with the ethical, professional, best quality service you deserve.
I always hold our relationship in mind. Developing meaningful connection while experiencing a genuine sense of equality and collaboration, is the key to unlocking the door to transformative work; I work relationally throughout my practice.
My way of working is informal and relaxed. I don’t make any judgements or tell you what I think you should do. I listen carefully and provide a supportive collaborative relationship which facilitates your journey of healing leading and flourishing.
Being an Integrative Practitioner means I work in a way which draws on different theories and models from psychology, psychotherapy, coaching, and neurobiology. My way of working rests on a philosophy and understanding that what will helps us best is dependent on our unique experiences so how I work is tailored to best fit your individual needs.
The length of time I work with clients varies and is driven by clients' unique needs; as an ethical practitioner I don't extend the work beyond ethical boundaries of client benefit.
If you prefer to work in person, I am located on the border between East Lancashire and North Yorkshire where I have a welcoming and comfortable office which is convenient for Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley, Pendle, Skipton, Craven, the Yorkshire Dales, and surrounding areas. If you prefer to work online I am happy to work this way and I am qualified and experienced to do so.
I love my work for which I feel very grateful. To ensure I work well and provide the best quality service I limit the number of clients in my caseload. This means that at times I make the difficult choice to disappoint enquiries.
