About me

Men, improve your relationships, remove barriers of self-doubt, overcome loneliness and reclaim your health. Find belonging and feel capable once more.

I'm Ben, South African-born, living and loving life between Devon where I live and London where I run events.

I have been coaching men in London for over 4 years now. I run a men's wellness event called, MENS DAY in London, Vancouver and soon to be South Africa. I host a gathering all around the UK called F*ck the Small Talk and run various programs all with the aim and understanding that if you bring people together, break down the walls of judgement we all have (especially me), and find a way to relate we can radically improve the quality of our lives and those around us.

So why men?

We are misunderstood and feel boxed in by the political and social framework that surrounds us. We lack the spaces and relationships to speak confidently about how we feel for fear of judgment or persecution. This is made worse by the fact that our internal dialogue is one of 'shut up and be a man' which served us well during the war but screws us in today's world.

We men, have so much to offer this world but we need a way to reclaim our masculinity in a way that works with the changing expectations and beliefs of our role in society.

Crucially, without specialist help, how are we meant to address rates of suicide and loneliness among men. Men need men in safe spaces to learn from and showcase the best and worst of themselves. This then permits us to express ourselves less defensively in the real world. Think about it like this, the 'British gentleman' has the quiet politeness that is admirable and speaks of his apparent self-confidence but if what stirs beneath is self-loathing, loneliness and a lack of self-love, then it is no wonder we struggle for belonging and that the rates of loneliness and suicide are what they are. If the most available space for men to meet and speak is the pub or during half-time of a rugby/football game, then we need more safe and sober spaces, period.

Lastly, and to be very clear, I do not in any way advocate for Andrew Tate. I feel we as the modern man have a duty to step up in society and embrace change. That said, we must take our steps towards this change gradually so we keep the best of us and adapt the rest.
