About me

I’m an accredited Executive and leadership team coach, and coach supervisor and have been providing a thinking space for busy leaders and teams for over 10 years. This allows them time to reflect, and work on personal and professional issues which are important to them.

I believe everyone has the ability to be a great leader and inspire teams to deliver outstanding results; but leaders need a space to pause, reflect on what makes them effective, what is important to them, what they stand for, and how they can show up to enable better outcomes.

Developing self awareness, learning to manage yourself to be the best version you can be, and developing a reflective practice all help you to build on your strengths and successes, and engage more effectively. That’s where I come in.

As an Executive Coach: I work with individual leaders, often in senior roles and enable them to explore their authentic leadership style, overcome challenges and adapt how they show up to be more effective. I partner with leaders to co-create a thinking space, raising self-awareness through conversation, supportive challenge and encouraging self-reflection.  I also work with individuals as a career coach.  I have helped clients with:

  • Transitioning to new leadership roles
  • Establishing credibility as a leader and building their personal brand
  • Feeling more confident as leaders and overcoming imposter syndrome
  • Managing their emotions and stress at work, and handling overwhelm
  • Resolving conflicts with their teams and stakeholders
  • Creating the strategic focus and direction for them and their business
  • Creating strategies to deal with workplace challenges they are facing

As a Team Coach: I engage with both senior and newly formed teams, enabling them to cultivate high-performance behaviours and effective collaboration. Leveraging tools such as Strengthscope™, DiSC®, and Lencioni's 5 Behaviours™, I create insights to improve team dynamics and performance, creating psychological safe spaces for the team to develop. I have supported teams with:

  • Building team relationships and effective team dynamics
  • Establishing senior leadership, functional and board teams and creating functional and organisational strategy
  • Managing and navigating complex team & system dynamics
  • Dealing with conflict between team members
  • Supporting new and struggling teams to establish vision and ways of working

As a Coach Supervisor: I work with individual coaches and groups of coaches to co create an environment where they feel safe to explore their work and stretch their thinking and skills, enabling them to develop their reflective practice and learning.  I also run a bi-monthly supervision group.

My Approach and Coaching Philosophy

I see coaching as a partnership to enable others to discover new thinking about themselves, their work and personal and professional development. I see this as a journey we travel together, agreeing the direction and focus as we go.

I work systemically, meaning I hold the entire organisational and wider context in mind, recognising that people don’t work in a vacuum, and are impacted by their environment. I act as a facilitator, encouraging self-reflection through a wide variety of coaching styles and techniques, to enable deep thinking. In sessions I use deep listening & reflective observation to explore your current focus. We hold the outcomes in mind recognising the executive context changes at speed & goals are the starting point only.

In each session we create actions using a non-directive approach, with me providing context, observation & feedback as needed. I have a flexible, relational coaching style and I work at the transformational rather than the transactional end of coaching.  Together we partner to create a thinking space where you feel safe to explore your beliefs, behaviours, patterns and your work enabling you to stretch your thinking and skills, and enable better outcomes.

Testimonials from my Coachees/Supervisees

"I have been working with Annabel for around 18 months during a challenging period at work. She has provided me with a range of helpful strategies and tools, that have really helped me understand how I operate, and that I am now introducing to my team. Annabel is always friendly and supportive, yet asks those challenging questions you know you should be asking yourself, which really improve your self awareness and insight. I would not hesitate in recommending Annabel to anyone looking for a coach to help them move forward." Coachee, Director

"Working with Annabel has been an incredible journey which has benefitted me in both my work and home life. Through coaching I was able to identify and find ways to achieve and exceed my goals which I believe was crucial for my development and subsequent promotions. Having a greater understanding of myself and how I respond to others has allowed me to achieve this for myself to make my own life easier, but also to work more effectively across the organisation with people that I have previously struggled with – achieving much better outcomes for the organisation when working collaboratively." Coachee, Department Head

"Thank you so much for your support over the last few months. It’s been perfectly timed to force me to think about me and my career aspirations and you have helped me with some excellent advice and guidance as to how best to go about getting my next big challenge!  All the tips, links, and common sense guidance you’ve sent me will be invaluable." Coachee, Senior Manager

"I really enjoyed my coaching sessions with Annabel. She is very personable, warm and funny – and really knows her stuff when it comes to leadership and management!  The coaching came at a difficult period of my career.. She immediately helped me to re-orient myself with reality at a time when I was in an irrationally-negative place. By listening very carefully to my story and asking intelligent and perceptive questions, Annabel was able to remind me of a) my skills and abilities and b) the scale of the difficulties that I was facing in my role. Through our coaching sessions, I was able to much better understand the dynamics within the team I was working in, and to develop effective ways to improve how I was dealing with them" Coachee, Middle Manager.

"As a team, we have worked through issues and scenarios that have helped unlock solutions that without coaching intervention may have taken much longer to get to or not at all. As a result, we are working much more collaboratively as a wider leadership team. In addition, we continue to practice coaching as a technique across the business" Executive Leadership Team

"I am being supervised for my coaching practice by Annabel. It's a fantastically enlightening experience as she teases out and brings to the forefront of my attention aspects of my coaching and coaching practice. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and is able to draw on that to inspire me" Coaching Supervisee

"Annabel has been supervising me this year and I have found our sessions to be great at helping me to develop my skills. Annabel elegantly holds the space for me to explore my ideas and what is holding me back - and with her years of experiences, gives me the tools, information and resources I need to take my insights forward in a practical and meaningful way. Annabel makes coaching seem effortless! The supervision she offers is straight forward, dynamic and powerful and I would recommend her to anyone looking to grow their leadership and career."
