How effective is coaching?

Prior to working with my first coach, I had never heard of a ‘life coach’. I really had no idea how it worked, what the sessions involved and if it was the right route for me.

There I was, sat in my office at work, with tension filling my shoulders, an incessantly busy mind and a feeling of frustration like never before. I knew deep down there had to be more to life than the one I was living and at the same time I felt like I didn’t really have anything to complain about. I felt stuck. It was a confusing time but I knew that I needed and wanted to move forward and get ‘unstuck’ in some way.

After a series of google searches, I found my first coach. That first discovery call was the start of my personal development journey. The most challengingly beautiful and beautifully challenging journey – the best part is it’s expansive, and so the fun never stops!

If you feel like a coiled spring and you’re not sure where to begin then the coaching space can be the best play ground ever.

I want to share with you what I believe is so effective and impactful about working with a coach. Here’s why...

Imagine a calm, safe space for you to be completely authentic, without judgement, really getting to the core of what’s going on for you; even if you think you’re not sure what ‘it’ is, through having the right space held and questions asked, your coach can support you to untangle ‘it’.

It’s rare we are afforded space to articulate ourselves without interruption or an opinion being given. A coaching session allows this space, to begin scratching the surface, peeling back the layers and digging deep. When we have this space, things become so much clearer, to share things out loud and hear them, allows you to become the observer.

Does it require vulnerability? Absolutely yes! Is it the way to get where you want to be much quicker than going it alone? Absolutely yes!

Coaching puts you firmly in the driving seat, you are empowered to explore and take the actions that are aligned with your truth. Even if it feels like you have no idea what that is, this is the space to discover it, attach your motivations to it and live in line with your ‘why’.

I don’t pretend for one second to understand what makes you tick as a person, how can I? I’ve not spent time in your shoes. I can guide and facilitate your exploration and stand side-by-side with you on this adventure.

Coaching provides a unique challenge, often a challenge that can be hard to find elsewhere. This challenge is impartial, supporting you to consider things from a different perspective, and explore the nitty gritty which can otherwise be more comfortable to ignore. If we want real change, its good to get deep and do the discovery work.

Is it worth it? The self-discovery, the resources, tools, and knowledge you will gain from a coaching session can be life-changing. Once we have those ‘a-ha’ moments, those moments of deep understanding and insight, we can’t go back from them. It’s joyful expansion from that moment on.

Once you peel back a layer, and another layer, and another layer to discover more and more of your true self, you won’t want to, and won’t be able to pop it back on again. If you want change and to have more freedom, more authenticity, more personal power and more joy in your life, in any area, then coaching is beyond worth it.

There are lots of beautiful coaches on this planet and, like all things, you need to find the right coach for you. Finding a connection that feels good is important! If it feels like I might be a good fit, then book in for a free discovery call.
