About me

I’m an experienced life coach, mentor and educator with a background in social work, leadership, teaching, and learning and development working with adults, children, families, couples and those who are neuro-diverse.

Are you at a crossroads? Have a problem to solve and are unsure how to? Stuck in a place but not sure what to do next? Thinking about your next career step? What to do in retirement? Dealing with a stressful relationship?

There’s a voice urging you to take that leap, daring you to go for it, and another stopping you. Where do you find the clarity and confidence to make that next move?

Whether it’s…

  • making that next step
  • dealing with anxiety and building confidence
  • career transitions and setting new goals
  • money issues
  • parenting
  • what to do in retirement?
  • dealing with a stressful relationship?
  • fulfilling your dreams and aspirations
  • getting your life in shape through health and physical well-being.
  • Managing with neurodiversity

I am skilled in successfully helping people find a way through their life journey, and I do that by letting them stay in charge and work things out on their own terms. My working style is compassionate and collaborative, guiding you to take that step confidently and flourish along the way. It’s not magic, but the results can be!

Life coaching for me means working with you to support and achieve personal success and fulfilment in life. It’s working on what is important to you and what you might be grappling with. You set the direction and you set where you would like to get to.

I’ve taken that leap many times, the plunge into the cold water. Once the leap is made barriers fade, the exhilaration takes hold, confidence soars and endless possibilities emerge. I can help you make sense of where to go, those next steps. I offer a free 30 minute discovery call which you can easily book here.

How I work

With a tailored approach, my coaching is an opportunity to focus on life choices, professional matters, relationship goals, developing positivity, managing stress, career changes, money, building strength, and spirituality. Supporting you to find solutions for yourself.

I offer you a safe, reflective, and confidential space that is supportive and challenging. My working style is compassionate and collaborative, guiding you to take that step confidently and flourish along the way.

My approach is not telling, assuming, or saying what will work for you. It’s helping you to take charge of your development, release your potential, make the shift, and achieve the results that matter most to you.

I offer coaching and facilitation for individuals, children, families, and couples and have extensive experience in working with men and male issues.

I am working with men more often on a whole range of matters. Whether it is relationships, work or just direction in life, we all need a bit of help sometimes. I know from experience it can be hard to make the first step and break out of a stuck or downward routine - more so for men as it can seem like a bit of a taboo to seek help and talk, when it’s actually the bravest and most strategic thing anyone can do. It is time spent to begin moving forward in the right direction. My coaching offers a time and space to consider those next steps, together.

If you’re interested in hearing a bit more about my coaching please do get in touch.

I also work with teams, using an action learning type model and provide leadership and career coaching for organisations.

About me

I can help you to find a way through and I love doing that by letting you stay in charge and working it out on your terms. It is mindful and intuitive supporting my clients through their journey of positive change.

One of my earliest experiences of coaching was running a football coaching school for children between four and seven. As with my practice today, the key to success was building relationships, having fun, working together, finding out about yourself, and learning.

I’m a father of four and in my spare time,  a pottery enthusiast, sourdough bread maker, cold water swimmer, volunteer trustee for an inspirational local eco park resource recognising the need to act locally to tackle climate change, and advocate for social justice, pushing and challenging myself.

Hannah October 2023

Working with Wesley has been a game-changer for me. After feeling quite lost, having just graduated and moved to London. Wesley has been instrumental in helping me navigate my career path with confidence and clarity. Through Wesley's support and guidance, I've gained confidence and felt truly empowered by the wide variety of options in front of me. Wesley helped me unlock what makes me tick, guiding me to align my passions with my goals and I cannot thank him enough for the guidance and support he has given me. Wesley has kindly set my career search off to an exciting start, introducing me to contacts in the third sector who have generously taken the time to talk to me about their journey into their own careers. I now feel empowered and excited about my career prospects and future. Thank you, Wesley, for everything!

Simon September 2023

I had more hesitations about working with a life coach, whether such a person could support me and how to choose a suitable coach from the many offering their services. I was at a key moment of change in my life, with loss of job and wanting to change direction, needing to move to more affordable housing which realistically meant moving out of London and my mother passing away. I felt I really needed someone professional who was independent and understanding other than a friend or family member who could give me the direction and support I needed to plan and take the next steps I needed to find direction and get me on track. I decided I wanted to work with a male coach. I think it is important for men to seek support from other men. I read a number of summaries of different life coaches and Wesley’s resume seemed to chime with what I wanted to hear, and I liked his face.

I had 4 sessions of coaching. They helped to motivate me to maintain a schedule and keep a focus on what I needed to do to move forward, I was struggling with finding direction and keeping motivated, they gave me a facilitated space to talk and explore my feelings and fears and to work with these in a positive way and gave me helpful practical tools and feedback to take the steps I needed.

What I liked best about working with Wesley was his relaxed, adaptable, conversational, and how he was there with me on my journey guiding me to a positive outcome, not telling me but working with me with just enough structure.

Working with a life coach has been a positive choice for me to help address life’s challenges. It’s been a real benefit.

I would recommend Wesley’s services to anyone, but I feel it is important for men to seek support from other men when in emotional crises, so would particularly recommend to other men who need support during a period of change/crisis in their lives. Overall, I found the experience very positive and beneficial.

Wesley is genuine, compassionate, understanding, supportive and provides great practical insights and tools to help you move forward.

Just a big thank you for your support and guidance.

Charlie, May 23

I must admit, after the first couple of sessions I wondered whether the life coaching was going to help or not. I am glad I persevered, as after maybe three or four sessions I feel that we turned a corner, where I started to put the coaching into practice and feel the benefits.

Secondly, to remember that the coaching will only help if one is able to act on it. I was faced with some difficult decisions during the coaching, and whilst Wesley helped me gain the confidence to face the situation(s), the outcome is ultimately determined through one’s actions.

Alex, May 23

Working with Wesley made me reflect a great deal on my core values. In doing so, this enabled me to think differently about difficult life decisions, where I could focus on staying true to my values, rather than overthinking or trying to please others. I now feel that I have more confidence in facing such decisions.

What I liked about working with Wesley was how he was always able to make the coaching environment comfortable, allowing me to feel at ease in discussing my situation. In my case, going on walks helped a great deal. We found that some of the best progress from the coaching came from a sunny morning out on the meadows.

Jesse, April 2023

Coaching has helped improve my relationship with close family and loved ones. In getting my priorities in order, and by being true to my core values as an individual, I feel that my family therefore hear less about my concerns and worries. It’s important to me that they know I have confidence to cut out my own path in life, and to try to do so in a manner that is enjoyable, exciting, and optimistic.

Debbie April 2023

I had no hesitations about working with Wesley and liked his calm, gentle and patient manner. Overall, I found clarity around my concerns and understanding where my needs are not being met. I feel stronger and determined not to settle for a mediocrity. I recommend working with Wesley If you’re feeling stuck in your life and are serious about putting the work in to improve your situation. Wesley will ask the right questions but it’s up to the you to answer them and put the work in to make necessary changes.

Avery April 23

For me, each coaching session at times felt like an opportunity open up quite a lot about what has been going on for me.

 Sam, March, 2023

Thank you, Wesley. I hope to continue benefiting from our coaching sessions in years to come. When facing difficult life situations or decisions I will do my best to remember the values we discussed, and if necessary take a walk in the sunshine to aid the process! Also know that if I do need to seek your support again, I would be happy to approach you for future coaching sessions.

AB, March, 2023

I would definitely recommend coaching to anyone I know who might be struggling to work through some difficult life problems or decisions. I think in the UK right now there are probably many people who could benefit in talking through their values and life experiences, in order to help them move forward with optimism. Perhaps there is still a lot of stigma surrounding such things. Either way, from my experience, I would encourage Wesley’s coaching to anyone that I think might benefit!

Matt January 2023
I had no hesitations working with Wesley – it’s not like counselling, it’s a more open discussion. Working together, I feel I have been able to untangle my life overall and be a lot clearer about my goals and priorities. What I liked was Wesley’s perceptive and easy nature allowing the sessions to flow. I felt that my concerns were carefully listened to and validated. I also benefited in realising that life is always a work in progress, and our work together has provided me with some useful tools to continue that
progress.

I did wonder if sometimes I was a bit too verbose which may have over-ridden the structure of a session, having said that, the open nature of the sessions allowed for some deep exploration and some pretty amazing light bulb moments.

I would totally recommend Wesley and the process as sometimes it’s difficult to know where to start with major work/life decisions, particularly for people like me who are self-employed or do not have the support of the workplace. If you are going to work with Wesley, feel assured the approach non-judgemental but able to guide and lead when asked.

Thanks for your efforts and patience!

Liz, September 2022

I found coaching and sourdough bread baking Immensely helpful! Apart from kick-starting my bread making career, the day was so inspiring. It has been the catalyst to getting on and starting a new venture that I’ve been talking about for ages.

What I liked best was the completely natural way our conversation was steered leading to deep thinking about what I want, what’s stopping me, and how I can look at things from another viewpoint....

I loved that the time was broken up by the (k)needs of the ‘dough’, little chapters of conversation that could focus on one question or thought...

I’ve benefited in an extraordinary way. The coaching made me realise that the reasons I’d not to get on with things and get started were entirely internal.... mental barriers made of crumbly sand, not concrete, and easy to knock down once I’d understood that. By coaxing out what first steps I could take, and what promises I’d make to myself, I have now unleashed the trapped creativity that I’d always been putting away for ‘when there was time’.

I would recommend Wesley without hesitation! Apart from acquiring new culinary skills(!), I think his very gentle approach to teasing out answers to questions I didn’t know I needed to ask myself is brilliant.

Like therapy but much more fun, and productive, and with delicious bread at the end of the day!

I really liked the format, the day paced by the bread-making process and taking a walk while waiting for dough to rise, brilliant idea!

The most important thing people should know about working with Wesley is that it will be a really rewarding experience... with a coach who is incredibly easy to talk to... and will leave you feeling more energetic and refreshed.

S and K Couple Coaching July 2022

“We’d both like to express our thanks for the time you gave us to listen to our situation and to support us through the change. It’s been invaluable and after each session we come home feeling united as a couple, resilient and reinvigorated: excited about what lies ahead. You’re coaching and facilitating style worked for us beautifully. Thank you, for your support. We’re both so glad we approached you for coaching and your style suited us well”.

Kevin May 2022

Working with Wesley has” given me a much more positive outlook “keep your eye on the prize”. Control the controllables and don’t take any notice of the small man on your shoulder”

What I like best about working with Wesley was the relaxed atmosphere, allowing space to talk

I’d absolutely recommend Wesley as a coach especially to people like me, who have never undertaken sessions like this.

The most important thing people should know about is that anything can be said in confidence and that no judgement will be made.

I enjoyed our sessions and achieved a great deal

Deborah Glass Woodin, June 2021

I had no hesitations working with Wesley apart from a possibly inevitable (with something new) wondering about how and if this would work as a process.

Since we started working together, I have felt less alone with 'the stuff in my head'. I have 'given a go' to some of the things discussed. I no longer feel overwhelmed and indeed feel more energised. And managed to carry out what I intended.

What I liked best about working with Wesley is the informality and peer-support (rather than the 'professional'/has-all-the-answers) nature of it. There was no overt pressurising or expectation. I feel I have a truer picture, that feels workable-with, of what's going on and my experience of it. I feel if I get stuck again, I have someone to turn to.

I would absolutely recommend Wesley. Particularly, I am sure there are other people out there who are generally competent, skilled, fulfilled in life, but maybe 'stuck' or faced with a dilemma and wouldn't usually think to ask for help - which is a shame.

The most important thing people should know about working with Wesley is how supportive and personable he is. With him, the process can really help and is worth the time and attention.
