Sandra Tilley, Personal Development Coach, MAC

Broadway, Gloucestershire, WR12

About me

I have been a qualified personal development coach and trainer for the past sixteen years. Throughout that time I have built up extensive experience of supporting individuals within the frameworks of their career, relationships and general well-being.

I specialise in working with clients who have an interest in developing a greater understanding as to why they think and act as they do. Gaining personal insight in a non-judgmental setting equips clients to decide for themselves what, if any, changes they wish to make.

My approach to Personal Development Coaching

The ethos of my business is to provide clients with the tools and techniques to build their capacity to self-coach.  Although client outcomes are as individual as the clients themselves, my aim is consistent - to ensure you are equipped to maintain your personal development beyond our coaching relationship.

You will be asked about your core values and strengths, the building blocks from which to develop your self-understanding and confidence.

You will also be supported to identify ingrained sources of unhelpful thinking and, through increased self-awareness, generate your own solutions to the challenges you currently face.

A coach has the questions but you have the answers.

Bespoke Resources

Preparatory paperwork is sent out in advance of our first meeting so we gain a mutual understanding as to what you would like to achieve through coaching.  Preliminary materials are then supplemented by bespoke documents on issues arising from our coaching sessions.

Meetings can be face to face, by telephone or online.  The majority of face to face appointments take place at settings meaningful to my clients. Some choose to meet up at their workplace while others prefer open spaces, art galleries or their favourite coffee shop.  It's important that clients have a sense of being in a ‘safe space’ so let's talk in an environment where you feel particularly at ease.

Training, qualifications & experience

Independent validation of my coaching skills

In July 2012 I was validated as an Executive Coach for the UK Civil Service through Oxford Brookes University. This involved an independent assessment of my coaching skills and subsequent supervisory meetings with a published author on coaching supervision.

  • First Class BA (Hons) in Humanities with Art History
  • Diploma in Life Coaching (with Distinction) through the Life Coaching Institute
  • ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring in Management
  • Certified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming
  • Certified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Course

Team Coaching

I have coached a broad spectrum of teams within a Corporate setting.

Creating Bespoke Training Material

I have presented and developed training material for over twenty years, both in the UK and internationally.

A 2019 survey conducted by the UK's Behaviours Insight Team found that end users of a training package I designed identified it as being a 'particularly useful' part of a national scheme for mentors.

Continuous Professional Development

As an active member of two professional bodies, I keep up to date with developments in coaching and abide to the Global Code of Ethics and Good Practice.

Member organisations

Association for Coaching

The Association for Coaching is one of the leading professional bodies for Coaches and Organisations.

The Association is made up of a number of different membership categories, e.g. Associate Member (AMAC), Member (MAC), Accredited Member (AC Accred), with the different categories standing for different levels of training and experience. Accredited Members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

The Association has a Code of Ethics & Good Practice and a Complaints Procedure.

Client Testimonials from June 2020 onwards:

Sandra helped me to find the answers myself by enabling me to draw upon who I am, what I’m good at, building my trust and confidence in those things that were there inside me. I felt so much more in control of my own mind and being (in my career but also in my personal life) as a result of the work done with Sandra. I would highly recommend her to anyone. (HD, Avon)

I cannot thank Sandra enough. It was really the best advice given / discussion had that I can remember having with any career coach ... Highly recommended. (AF Warwickshire.)

I'd dreamed of making some serious life and work changes for several years but had been too conflicted to change things. Sandra helped me to breakdown the issues I was facing and gave me the courage and the confidence to move forward.  I am indebted to her for her support and have never looked back.  (K, West Midlands)

The sessions I had with Sandra helped me to focus on what was important in my life and how to deal with the negative obstacles I faced,  to strive forward to reach new goals. (Charlotte, West Midlands)
