About me

Want to learn a new, safe, effective, and enjoyable way to lose weight and keep it off for good, so you can fully live the life you know you deserve?

I'm Claire Jones, and I exercise your mind for weight loss! I'm a health coach and wellness coach and I specialise in working with yo-yo and serial dieters. I provide coaching, mentoring, education, advice and guidance to anyone who is ready to fully invest in themselves to change their behaviour in order to lose weight and keep it off. 

My coaching approach is a new and different way for you to lose weight and keep it off without feeling in conflict between what you want to do and what you think you should do, so that you can finally get off the yo-yo diet rollercoaster, and find freedom and happiness.

It’s very different from common methods you’re likely familiar with because of how it actually works really well alongside them, enhancing your results. My coaching framework, The YourOneLife Framework for Success, helps you to change what you want so that it becomes much easier to stay on track with whatever you choose to do.

While there is some work to do, especially at the beginning, it will be extremely worth it. You will learn how to keep going with managing your weight no matter what life throws at you, where previously you had given up.

Best of all, I will help you to find out the approach that most suits your life, your personality and your preferences, and then apply it. You won't need to give up all your favourite foods, follow strict plans, go hungry or do hours and hours of gruelling exercise (unless you want to!). 

You will learn how to better manage your weight well for life, regardless of how many times you have failed in the past, or whether you have health or other problems that currently you may think prevent you from being able to lose weight or keep it off.*

Why should you trust ME to help you? What makes me think I’ll be able to help you any more than anyone or anything else has?

Because I take a different approach that we often overlook when we decide we want to lose weight: PREPARATION!

When it comes to losing weight, we tend to just get straight on with it, but without doing the right preparation. Yes we might do the practical preparations, like clearing out the cupboards and fridge, and changing our shopping list, but we often don’t work very much on our mindset, or really consider if the approach we have chosen is realistic or appropriate for us. If it involves making lots of changes all at once, or removes a lot of the joy from your life, chances are you won’t stick at it for long.

Weight loss is hard because to do so we have to change our behaviour, but deep down we don’t really want to, because eating serves so much more than physical hunger. Not only that, our favourite foods are so easily obtainable in our society, and in much larger quantities these days than is good for us, and so we are in constant conflict.

I help you to reduce that conflict so that you can maintain the behaviour needed to get the results that you want.

It’s not easy to do, neither is it quick, but it’s so worth it as it has the potential to transform your whole life as opposed to just putting a sticking plaster over things.

Transformation takes time, effort and commitment. We wouldn’t go into a gym and expect to come out fit and with a 6-pack after just a few visits, so we are not going to transform our lifelong attitudes and behaviours after a few mindset exercises.

But done regularly, effectively and consistently, and with the right support, working on our mindset is what will make the difference.

I get you to work on your weight loss foundations, so that you can learn to manage your weight for life.

Ideally we do the work BEFORE you start your weight loss journey, so that you can put everything into practice from the beginning.

However, I can still help you wherever you are on your journey, and even after you’ve reached your goal weight, so that it’s no longer such a struggle.

What I find the most frustrating, having been on this journey myself and succeeded, keeping my weight under healthy control now for a decade, is that I can see people repeating the same pattern over and over, just like I used to, and knowing I can help them, but they don’t think they need help, or not the kind of help that I offer.

They are often looking for the quick fix, one that they hope will get them results in the shortest possible time, but unfortunately for many of us, that just doesn’t exist, as what’s required to do it just isn’t sustainable within our lives.

Or they lack self-belief so they don’t put in the consistent effort that is needed, as part of them tells them they can’t do it so what’s the point.

Or they are eating more than they realise so their efforts are in vain.

What I’ve come to realise is that the time you need me is the time you least think or expect you will need me.

Does this sound familiar?

You start a diet, you’re feeling great, you lose weight for a few weeks, you don’t need any help because you’re doing so well. But then it all grinds to a halt... something happens to throw you off track, you lose momentum and with it your motivation and self-belief. Then old habits kick back in, and before you know it you’re back where you started.

Then a few days/weeks/months go by and you start it all again,.. maybe with a different diet because the one you did before didn’t work, did it?

Well it did, because you lost weight while you were doing it. But you didn’t keep doing it.

But you don’t ask for help then either, because that will make you a failure, right? Or you go back to where you went before, and try again, because this time it’s going to be different.

Except it’s not.

That’s the time you need my help the most, so that it really WILL be different this time. But how?

I fully prepare you for losing weight for good, before you get started, so you can stop repeating this pattern. We work on your motivation, your self-belief, your accountability and develop your knowledge and skills, including about what and how to eat and exercise, so you have all the right foundations in place that YOU need to be successful.

The last thing I’m going to do is criticise or judge you, because I’ve been where you are, many times, and I remember how it feels, and how hard it is to manage our weight in today’s world.

I help you learn how to manage your behaviour around food, and therefore your weight, through whatever life throws at you, and without it feeling like you’re in conflict all the time, and develop the knowledge and skills to keep it off for life.

I help you to choose the right approach for you, one that fits with your life, your personality and your preferences, so that you can enjoy the journey and find it easier to maintain the behaviour you need to get the results that you want.

You can then go back and do any previous programme you’ve done before, if you want to, if it’s right for you, only this time it really WILL be different, because you will have done the mindset work you need to do to make it work this time.

Meet Hazel

She's fed up with her weight, she's tried all the diets under the sun, she only lasts a few weeks, then gives up and puts it all back on again, plus more. She's now the heaviest she's ever been in her life.

I'm a Life Coach and Personal Trainer with a range of qualifications and personal and professional experience developed over many years. I help people break free from yo-yo and serial dieting and lose weight for good, as I remember how it felt to have my life dictated by my weight!

But it doesn't dictate my life anymore!

After almost 25 years of yo-yo dieting I finally cracked it, and absolutely transformed my life.

With me there is no trying to follow rigid plans that don't fit with YOUR life. The key to success in my approach is helping you work out what's important to you, what works for you and what you enjoy, what your strengths are and what changes you can make that are therefore sustainable for YOUR life. And walking beside you as you make those changes, cheering you on and holding you accountable. Celebrating your successes with you. And there will be many along the way. You will be amazed at what you can achieve with the right attitude, support and tools.

How much is a lifetime of being a healthy weight worth to you?

We think nothing of spending money on gadgets, makeup or handbags we don't use, shoes and clothes we don't wear, gym memberships and other subscriptions that we don't use, so why not spend it instead on investing in yourself with coaching? You'll be glad that you did, and you will definitely use it as I will hold you to account. There's a reason why airline cabin crew tell you in the safety briefing to put your own oxygen mask on before helping others! Think about it!

Seeking coaching is NOT an admission of failure! It's recognition that you deserve more out of your life!

Getting some outside help to unlock your potential and keep you accountable is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your loved ones, as if you are able to overcome the things that are holding you back, you will be more successful generally in everything that you do. Everyone should be able to access coaching. Even coaches - yes I have a coach! ?

Coaching helps you get sustainable results! Yes, even by working with you online! It doesn't matter where you are!

I take a holistic approach, looking at your whole life. Often weight gain or an inability to lose it is due to other things going on, and by helping you make changes in those areas, suddenly the weight loss becomes possible. Equally losing the weight can enhance other areas of your life.

Tackling what we eat is the biggest influence in weight management so even if you can't be very active due to health conditions or a disability, being overweight is not inevitable. I can show you how.

I can also offer Personal Training to complement your coaching sessions, and am able to give you advice about physical activity!

Alongside my coaching I also offer personal training, and can give you appropriate advice during your coaching sessions. In addition to the standard Personal Training qualification I also have a Level 3 Personal Training Exercise Referral Diploma to work with people with a variety of health conditions including depression, arthritis or high blood pressure and a Level 4 Personal Training Certificate to support those struggling with obesity and/or diabetes, so I have the specialist skills and knowledge to help you if any of this applies to you.

(Note: I require GP approval to provide personal training to people with medical conditions)

You don't have to take up running or go to the gym if you don't want to, and being active doesn't have to mean formal structured exercise. I can help you find things you like doing that will help you to be more generally active, and therefore will stick to.

I can offer standalone online personal training but provide discounted sessions to clients who are also receiving coaching services from me. 

My coaching packages are tailored to the individual and I have alternatives to suit most budgets

Coaching prices start at £110 for an initial 90 minute assessment (90 minutes for the price of £60), then £399 for blocks of 4 x 60 minute sessions but other packages can be negotiated. 

We start with your 90 minute assessment where we take the time to go through everything and at the end decide together the most suitable next steps for you.

Even if you decide to go no further after that, you will still go away with some tools and techniques that you can apply after just that one session.

The assessment session is priced at 90 minutes for the cost of the usual 60 minute ongoing session.
