About me

Thank you for connecting with me. Do you want to be happier at work? Are you ready to fulfill your potential? Are you stuck in a role that doesn't give you this but you don't know what else to do? CareerTree coaching is designed to enable you to discover your potential at work and engage in a career that you love.

I'm Sarah and I specialise in both career change and building career confidence, and for the last 10 years I've worked with hundreds of people to move from feeling stuck to having clarity about their future.

I am passionate about everyone being able to really enjoy what they do, have a positive balance between work and home, and feel confident to say 'yes' to opportunities that are right for them. I love what I do and I want you to experience that too.

How coaching works

I offer one to one sessions with coaching programmes tailored to your needs, often covering areas of career change, identity, direction, confidence and developing resilience. I will always work one to one with you either in person, by phone or via Skype, whichever works for you best.

I use tools and exercises to enable you to get the insight to make decisions about where next, and with challenge and support understand what you need to do to be fulfilled in your career. You also leave with an action plan to make things happen.

I meet clients either in Finchley, North London or in the Member's Area of the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank. For those clients outside London then i use Skype or Facetime.

Training, qualifications & experience

One thing you should know about me is that I’ve been where you are – back in 2007 I was in a job that I just didn’t enjoy anymore but didn’t have a clue what to do next! Yes I’ve experienced career change too and have had to start all over again.

Luckily my career change worked out and I now get to do what I love – coaching! I am qualified too – I was trained by Career Counselling Services and also have an MSc in Career Coaching with Distinction. My research on career confidence is published in Coaching: an International Journal of Theory, Research & Practice.

I also have 20 years experience in Human Resources working at a senior level in the commercial and voluntary sectors, which allows me to bring an employer and business perspective to your career coaching experience. I am a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

I also write regularly on careers for The Guardian, TotalJobs, Psychologies, Thrive Global and various other publications. I have also taken part in online panels for Guardian Careers and as a panelist on flexible working at the 2016 Mumsnet Workfest Conference.

I have just published a book called ‘Developing your Inner Coach’ available at

Further information

"Sarah provided invaluable support and coaching when I was looking to change career direction and did not know where to start! She really understood what I was searching for in a job and helped me identify potential career options and draw up a structured plan of action. She also guided me through the ins and outs of producing an effective C.V. and covering letter.

I learnt so much over the sessions and feel much more confident and equipped to find work that matches my values and interests.

Sarah is knowledgeable, warm and professional and I have no hesitation in recommending her, I only wish I had invested sooner. The best phone call I made last year."
