About me

Do you feel lost in your career?  You may feel you’re not tapping into your full potential or that the next step isn't clear.

Perhaps you've even lacked support -- this could be from a manager, leadership, or even your partner. Maybe you realize it’s time to change your role or you want to develop a long-term career goal. Either way, you aren't where you want to be. You feel stuck.

Career coaching can help you take control and make intentional choices about what is right for you.

Hello, I’m Holly Sedlacek, a Career Coach. Email me to set up a free introductory call.

I've helped clients to succeed by:

1) finding a better role in a new organisation

2) stepping into bigger leadership responsibilities in their current organisation

3) believing in their expertise, and

4) moving on from outdated feedback that has been keeping them stuck.

I use a proven coaching framework based on emotional intelligence and psychology that creates the structure and space for you to get clear on the question of “what do I want now?” and create a path to achieve it.

I also have experience helping people who feel burned out, especially those who feel they can't say no or set boundaries. Many times burnout impacts your life at home because you're so tired from your energy-zapping day at work.

Common Career Coaching topics include:

  • Creating a career development plan.
  • Interview skills and package negotiation.
  • CV/resume writing and reviewing. Developing job-finding techniques.
  • How to build a network and networking skills.
  • Finding your career direction and fulfillment at work.
  • Clarifying short and long-term career objectives.

If you're a manager or leader, coaching topics can also include:

  • Managing the pressure to perform.
  • Improving executive presence and learning how to express your view effectively.
  • Developing your leadership style.
  • Building communication skills and working on presentation techniques.
  • Becoming more self-aware, building emotional intelligence and resilience.
  • Negotiating power structures and building trusted relationships.
  • Listening to intuition and your ‘inner voice’.

Previous clients have ranged from:

  • COOs stepping up into big leadership positions who need to let go of managerial behaviours so they can strategically lead their department and the organization.
  • Directors going for Partner in big consulting firms.
  • New dads navigating careers changes with little ones at home and a partner who has a big career too.
  • Successful managers who have been at an organization "too long" but don't know how to leave and want support while they update their CV, job search, network, negotiate a package, and start their new role.
  • Subject Matter Experts with a tenure of success, but aren't happy with their current life/work balance and they don't want to spend the rest of their working days wondering "what if..."

My clients are from a range of backgrounds but a majority are from consulting (Big 4) or Financial Services.

What my clients have in common, is the need to grow confidently in a sustainable and fulfilling manner. The outcome they all have is a life and a career that fits who they are today.

“I came to Holly for coaching as I was transitioning to a new role as a Founder of a new business. Her approach has been completely effective, more than I’ve experienced in my 20+ yr career. If you need guidance in shutting out the “noise” and to become more focused in your purpose, then, Holly is your coach. She is unapologetically authentic and it comes through in the results." RM

Training, qualifications & experience

I have my BA in Psychology, MA in Industrial/Organisational Psychology and further certifications in Hogan, Emotional Intelligence (EQi 2.0), DiSC, Transactional Analysis, ACC from the International Coaching Federation, as well as Triathlon England.

I had a 14+ year corporate career in consulting and Financial Services,  (Insurance and Asset Management), even managing a global 4-tiered leadership development program.

I have an ever growing knowledge of leadership and management principles, self-help tools, and a great set of listening ears.  :)

“I have absolutely loved talking to Holly on a weekly basis these last few months. I started off in a state of complete indecision finding it very difficult to narrow down and order wayward thoughts, ideas and emotions. Holly is the most amazing listener. From our discussions she was able to very quickly pick out pain points and identify unhelpful habits that I’ve been nurturing over the years. She then suggested practical and helpful techniques to help me manage and rein in an very busy mind and improve on my decision making skills. I honestly couldn’t recommend talking to Holly enough!" -Senior Marketing Manager

Additional information

While some clients only need a few sessions, I usually work with clients on a retainer basis, so if you'd like to discuss a retainer package (3 or 6 months) instead of one-off sessions, please do get in touch.

The reason I have flexibility in my packages is that everyone is unique, but what is the same, is that behaviour change takes time. While progress happens in individual sessions, one session isn't enough for most individuals to accomplish their goals, especially when it comes to career and leadership development.

Most of my clients continue signing retainer contracts as they continue to progress in their development beyond what they thought possible. We will always make sure the package fits your needs through honest conversations.

Email me at holly.sedlacek@knowyourpace.co.uk to schedule a free introductory call to learn about working together. If you want to work with me and want to know more about pricing options/payment plans, don't hesitate to reach out.

I do have evening and some Saturday availability, but find most clients are happy to have their coaching during the week.

When I work

Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat Sun

At the end of each of our coaching sessions, we book your next session so there's never any doubt of our next steps.
