About me
Perhaps you're carrying more responsibility than most people realise.
You may be leading a business, a team, a service or an important piece of work. From the outside, you appear capable and successful. Underneath, you're juggling competing priorities, making difficult decisions, and wondering why something that once felt exciting now feels increasingly heavy to carry.
You know working harder isn't the answer. You need the space to think clearly, understand what's really happening, and decide what needs attention next.
This is where my work begins.
I help thoughtful leaders, founders and professionals make sense of complexity, strengthen the foundations beneath what they're building and create the conditions for sustainable growth without burning themselves out or losing sight of what matters most.
My work brings together business strategy, systems thinking, coaching and therapeutic insight. We recognise that the personal and the professional constantly influence one another. Together we explore not only your business or leadership challenges, but also the patterns, assumptions and ways of working that may be helping or hindering your growth.
This work often involves untangling over-functioning, people-pleasing, perfectionism and responsibility fatigue.
It may also involve reviewing your business model, simplifying systems, refining your offers, improving decision-making or creating healthier ways of leading.
The Orchard framework underpins much of my work, helping us understand where you are in your current season of growth, what may be asking for attention, and what will best support your next stage of development.
The aim isn't simply more growth.
It's growth that is sustainable, intentional and worth sustaining.
Why clients choose me
Strategy and psychology together
Business challenges are rarely just business challenges. I combine strategic thinking with psychological insight, helping you to make decisions that work on both a personal and practical level.
A way of making sense of complexity
Rather than adding more ideas or more pressure, I help you understand what is really happening, what matters most, and what needs attention next.
Sustainable growth
I help clients strengthen the foundations beneath their success so growth doesn't rely on constant over-functioning or self-sacrifice.
Practical and reflective
You'll find a balance of thoughtful conversation, practical tools and clear next steps.
Calm challenge
Clients often describe me as someone who offers both compassion and honest challenge. I'll support you while helping you see patterns and possibilities that are difficult to spot on your own.
Broad professional experience
My background spans business analysis, organisational change, coaching, counselling and clinical supervision, allowing me to work comfortably with both the human and organisational aspects of change.

Testimonials:
"Prior to coaching, I was feeling stressed, anxious and tired. This was due to a challenging work-based difficulty where there was a long-term conflict situation. It had left me worn down and 'burned out'. The process of resolving this was long and made it very difficult to 'switch off' after work... Often, work with preoccupy my thoughts and that also had a wider negative impact on me.
I felt that coaching would help me on a 'healing trajectory'. I wanted to bring some perspective and closure to the situation. As well as this, I wanted to restore my energy and positivity moving forward in the future.
I'm delighted to report that these results have been achieved. This is a great tribute to the coach who is highly intuitive and offered perspective feedback as well as giving me 'homework' to complete. I feel restored compared to the start of our coaching. I can now give 100% to my work and engage positively with personal commitments again, which is very welcome, so the benefits to me a very holistic."
- Dr. G. NHS Public Health, Wales
"I managed to stay in work. This has been an achievement in itself for me as it would've been easy to go off on sick leave. I have learned new ways of coping with my feelings of anxiety, particularly around time with my manager, which had found me feeling overwhelmed and panicky before. I have had help from Emma to reframe my thinking and I am very grateful for her approach with this, such as helping me to relax and breathe...
I have secured an associate lecturer role with the OU and have an interview next week for a manager post in the neighbouring county...
I am more grounded and will continue to find ways to move forward that are meaningful...
I try to ensure I am clear when managing staff about intended outcomes expectations.
I will always be grateful for Emma support - diolch yn fawr iawn, Emma"
- T. Manager of an award-winning public services team, Wales
"I have recently been given a temporary promotion.
I believe coaching from Emma has helped me have more belief and confidence in myself that I am capable of succeeding in this role. I also have less anxiety about trying something new compared to before Emma started working with me."
- Ellen.Senior Researcher, England
"Emma and I talked through my values, and practiced coping mechanisms for dealing with dips in my confidence. As a result, I have got to a place where I feel comfortable, fulfilled and suitably stretched in my current role... Thanks Emma for our discussions – they have helped me enormously."
- Hannah. Business Strategy and Engagement Manager, England
"I don't have to respond immediately. I can step back and recognise and I can do something a number of ways. It doesn't consume me."
- Florence. Environmental preservation, England
"I think you have motivated me to go after the things I want. It's giving me more courage to just do it."
