About me

The challenge...

We’re living longer… and for many of us, that means we’re going to need (or want) to spend more years of our lives working, in some capacity…

The changes and challenges we experience during our midlife years (career fatigue, stress, burnout, redundancy, divorce, loss of loved ones, health issues, 'empty nests' etc) can lead us to question the status quo, to look to re-evaluate our priorities, and to reset our relationship with work, so it better supports us as we look to make the most of the years ahead.

Whilst many of us want or need to continue working into the third quarter of our lives (50-75) (with all the positive benefits that can bring) – increasingly, we want to do it in a way that works for us.

It could be that you’ve simply become disillusioned with or exhausted by your current career and are looking to make a change, or your aspirations and priorities have changed so that your work no longer feels aligned with your values, or you’re facing redundancy and are unsure what comes next, or you may simply know you want something more from your work moving forward, but are just not sure what that is, or whether it’s realistic for you to make a change.

It's easy to allow a lack of clarity around what we really want, or what any potential change might look like, or how to go about making it, or simply the fear of change itself, to keep us stuck where we are. Existing but rarely thriving… and certainly not making the most of this exciting chapter of our lives!

Which is where coaching can help

As someone who’s passionate about helping people to make the most of their (finite) lives, through my coaching, I help those in mid-life and beyond embrace the opportunities offered by increased longevity, extended healthy lifespans, and longer working lives!

Specifically, I help people to get clarity around the role they want work to play in this phase of their lives, to re-imagine the work they're doing, or the way in which they're working, to make it more meaningful, more sustainable, and more supportive of their long-term wellbeing.

My coaching approach

As a coach, I'm attentive, curious, empathetic, intuitive, creative and not afraid to challenge, when appropriate. I help clients to increase their self-awareness, identify opportunities for change and then support them through the change process.

I like to give clients time and space in which to unpack their thoughts and then to work with what comes up, without the constraints of a set agenda or pre-defined processes or outcomes.

I adopt a holistic perspective to change – recognising the interdependencies which exist in different areas of our lives. So, considering the relationship between work, wellbeing (mental, emotional and physical) and longevity, helping clients to bring about changes which will support them in maximising their healthy lifespans.

In addition to coaching competencies, my approach is informed by my personal experience and ongoing journey of self-development, my interests in wellbeing and longevity and my professional/corporate background in Finance and related areas. I'm also a qualified Pilates teacher and firm believer in the benefits of staying active (physically, mentally and socially) as we age!

Next steps

If you think you might benefit from having someone to walk alongside you as you look to make sense of this phase of your life, please get in touch! I offer a free, no obligation discovery call of up to 30 minutes so you can find out a bit more about me and about coaching, I can find out about you and what it is you’re looking for help with, and we can see whether there’s a good fit!

I offer in person sessions for those based in the local area, at a mutually convenient location – indoors or out (weather permitting), or online sessions, using Google Meet or Zoom.

Additional information

I recognise that coaching can be an expensive commitment, particularly if you've not been coached before and so don't really have any understanding of how many sessions you're likely to need, or the session frequency which will work best for you (both from a financial and progress perspective).  I've therefore decided to remove my minimum session requirement and to work with clients on an 'as required' basis.
