About me

Sometimes you know something needs to change, but you’re not sure where to start.

Whether you’re considering your next career move, stepping into a leadership role, rebuilding your confidence or finding your way through a difficult time in life - you don't have to work it our all alone.

I’m Alison Hext, a career and leadership coach. I offer a supportive space to pause, think clearly and work out what matters to you and what you want to do next.

Having worked across pharma, life-sciences, and publishing I understand the demands of working life and how closely our careers can become connected to our confidence and sense of identity. I bring that experience to our conversations while keeping the focus on you, your circumstances and your choices.

I work with senior managers, directors, individuals and small businesses - I listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and gently challenge assumptions that may be holding you back.

1 to 1 coaching sessions tailored for you

Together, we'll explore your strengths, values and options, turning your reflections into manageable steps. My approach is warm, practical and collaborative.

What I offer and can help...

  • Finding direction when you feel stuck or uncertain about your career.
  • Navigating redundancy, a career change or a return to work.
  • Building confidence and recognising what you have to offer.
  • Preparing for a new role or greater leadership responsibility.
  • Developing your approach to workplace relationships and difficult conversations.
  • Creating clearer boundaries and a more fulfilling balance between work and life.

You don’t need to arrive with a clear goal - working out what you want is very often part of the coaching itself.

Getting started

I offer an initial (free) chemistry conversation so we can talk about what you’re looking for, explore how coaching might help and see whether we would work well together - there’s no pressure to commit.

If you’d like some space to think about your next chapter, I’d be pleased to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an Institute of Leadership & Management (Level 7) qualification in coaching and mentoring completed 72+ hours of coaching practice as part of my training and am an Associate member of the EMCC.

My professional background spans life sciences, pharma and publishing in senior marketing and comms roles.

Throughout my career, I've managed teams and worked with people across different disciplines and levels of responsibility, helping to clarify their priorities, develop plans and navigate change.

My own personal experience gives me an understanding of the challenges people can face at work - from finding their voice, managing work and personal pressures and expectations through to stepping into a new role.

My coaching combines thoughtful reflection with practical action. Depending on your needs, we may explore your values, strengths, beliefs and work-life balance, alongside setting goals and identifying achievable next steps.

I bring my own experience in navigating change, a strong curiosity and a belief that people have the capacity to find their own way forward - just some support to help make this happen.
