What is the one biggest thing holding you back?

So, you’ve got your goal, it’s something you’ve wanted for years. Maybe you’ve worked it through with your coach or a friend.

A checklist for your goal:

  • It’s specific – check
  • You’ll know how you’ll feel once you’ve achieved it – check
  • You know what success looks like – check
  • You know it’s attached to your personal motivations – check
  • You’ve chatted through all the things that could stop you and got plans for all the obstacles – check
  • You know exactly how you want to move forward – check

And yet, still, you seem to be hitting a familiar wall; you just cannot seem to get it over the edge. You grow more and more frustrated with yourself and cannot for the life of you figure out what’s going on. After all, you know deeply this is something you really want.

Does this resonate?

If so, perhaps there’s some deeper inner work to do. After all, all of these wonderful, powerful conversations to this point have been with your conscious mind. Your conscious mind is responsible for helping you to be logical, analytical, and to think critically. It’s where our willpower lies – which is why it can feel so frustrating that we aren’t able to make things happen that we know that we desire.

Don’t get me wrong, I will be the last person to diminish the absolute powerhouse that is coaching. I love coaching beyond measure, but at the same time, it’s important to acknowledge there might be something deeper that needs to be shifted or healed. Especially if you find yourself feeling stuck and just don’t seem to know why, or maybe you do know why but you’re not sure how to shift it!

Welcome to the idea of supercharging your coaching sessions with hypnotherapy...

How can hypnotherapy help?

Your subconscious mind is your storehouse for everything you have ever said, done, witnessed, experienced, heard and observed from the moment you were born. Its number one job is to learn everything you need to know in order to become a functioning human being (how to walk, talk, interact with others, react in certain situations, how to behave, and so on).

Hypnotherapy allows us to work directly with your beautiful, powerful, subconscious mind, the part of your mind that deals with your feelings and emotions, that believes whatever you tell it, whether it makes sense or not. It has the ability to hold many completely contradictory beliefs all at the same time.

Mostly, this is excellent, it allows us to drive the car at the same time as thinking about what to have for dinner. However, your subconscious mind is also holding on to patterns of thought and behaviour that no longer serve you, it is calling on old emotional responses to similar sets of events happening now; these beliefs (thoughts that have been repeated over and over again until it has become so strong you believe it) are set in your blueprint that you live your life by.

Your subconscious mind can, therefore, make it difficult for you and your conscious mind to do the things you would like to be able to do in life, to feel the things you would like to feel and go where you want to go, behaving in the way you want to behave.

Hypnosis allows us to bypass the conscious mind and go directly to the subconscious mind. It helps us find out what the belief is, to release it, move it, change it - whatever needs to happen in order to improve the quality of your life and your well-being.

Take this example (sharing with full consent)...

I’ve recently been working with a business owner, she has left her corporate job because she is passionate about growing in her new self-employment. She is set in stone with what she wants to achieve and is putting all her plans into action at the rate of knots.

Each and every time this wonderful person shared about their business on social media, she noticed how she felt a lot of discomfort and began to convince herself she’d said the wrong thing or might have upset someone. She has found it disheartening and frustrating. Logically, she knows this isn’t true but she has been unable to shift the uncomfortable feelings.

So, we pivoted her coaching sessions and brought in dynamic hypnotherapy to do some deeper inner work. The client has been able to do some incredible work in her subconscious mind, releasing a pattern that was no longer serving her. She was able to understand that this scared and fearful part was trying to protect her and keep her safe.

We uncovered an event that happened when she was six years old at school when she got unfairly told off for getting an answer incorrect in class. That moment had created such an impact on the client that her subconscious mind was recreating the same feelings, despite the context now being entirely different. Through reframing and regression, this part of her blueprint has been released and now things flow for her with much more ease and comfort!

So, if you find yourself wondering how to shift something and unable to do it through willpower alone, it could be time to delve deeper still. If you’re interested in exploring how coaching and hypnotherapy could support you, please book in for a free consultation call.
