Should you have therapy or coaching?

One of the big questions I often get asked by women who are ready to step away from their negative or limited life into a more loving, authentic and fulfilled version of themselves is,"How do I know if I need therapy or coaching?"

And it's a great question.

And I'm guessing that since you're here, you're curious too.

Therapy vs coaching

Therapy is a long-term process in which the client is held in a safe space to understand and resolve problematic beliefs, behaviours, relationship issues and feelings. The focus is on healing past traumas and painful experiences in order to create a happier and more balanced present.

Coaching is an action-based approach that takes into account who you are and where you are today in relation to who and where you want to be. The process empowers you to challenge limiting beliefs and obstacles that hold you back so that you can take inspired action towards living the life of your creation.

I’ve been in therapy (many times and in many styles) that has offered such a beautiful space for me to connect with and heal parts of me I didn’t even know were hurting. But then I was left wanting more. What next? Where do I go from here? I had so much insight into my behaviours and mind, but I didn’t know what to do with that.

What can coaching bring?

And this is where the coaching came in. I could see how my past had shaped me into who I was at that time, but I didn’t know how to get to where I wanted to be. I needed the tools, guidance and accountability to really make the changes I wanted in my life.

Now imagine if you could combine these two approaches. What if you could understand why you hold certain beliefs or behaviour patterns and feel supported to take purposeful steps towards creating a happier, healthier you?

This is what I can uniquely offer you. With a background in therapeutic approaches and a powerful combination of coaching methods, I can help you not only recognise where your limiting beliefs stem from or why you keep bumping up against the same problems time and time again but also how to boldly move forward in your life, trusting that you have all the tools and resources that you’ll ever need.

I have trained in a variety of therapeutic and coaching techniques including, acceptance and commitment therapy, CBT, hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic-programming (NLP), transformational coaching, mindfulness, yoga and more to give my clients a whole body, holistic approach that addresses body, mind, heart and soul. And these are tools that my clients get to learn and keep for a lifetime.

My transformational 12-week programme offers an integrative approach that works with mind, body, heart and soul so that you not only understand the science behind why you do what you do but have clear actionable steps that move you to where you want to be.

This process is about empowering you to remove the obstacles that get in the way of you showing up fearlessly as your most authentic and brilliant self. It's about learning to trust and deeply believe that you are enough.
