7 questions to ask yourself to pursue your dreams

Have you ever felt that inner voice, that persistent whisper from your soul, urging you to pursue your dreams? Maybe you're standing at a crossroads, contemplating whether to chase your passions or stay within your comfort zone. If you feel like your dreams might be calling, then this article might be of help! Here are seven questions that can help you accelerate your journey towards your dreams.

1. What's your highest priority in this lifetime?

Your first step is to identify what truly matters to you in this life. What brings you joy and fulfilment? To help with this, ask yourself what activities ignited your childhood enthusiasm. What are your current hobbies - could you do them all day every day? When dreams align with inner passion there's a lot of motivation. You'll spot opportunities quicker and you're more likely to reach your goals.

2. Is this your dream, or someone else's?

It's essential to differentiate between your authentic dreams and the expectations of others. Are your goals a product of your own aspirations, or are you pursuing someone else's vision of success? Remember, it's not selfish to chase your dreams; in fact, it's a gift you can share with the world once you've found your own joy and purpose.

3. Are you settling for less than need to?

Reflect on whether you've settled for a life that falls short of your potential in terms of love, health, and success. If you've compromised your true passions, it's time to course-correct. Anything less than living your authentic dreams will leave you feeling unfulfilled. So any discomfort you feel when thinking about this, any dissatisfaction, it's all evidence that can point you to where you next need to go!

4. What will you feel like when you reach your dream?

Your personal passion is the fuel that propels you towards your dream. To help you figure out if what you're going after is big enough or the right fit for you, reflect on how you'll feel once you achieve it. Dive into those emotions and sensations! Envision the thrill and exhilaration of living your dream; it's this vision that will drive you forward. If it's not aligned with what you really want it won't feel big enough!

5. What steps can you take today toward your dream?

Procrastination is the enemy of dreams. Don't delay your pursuit any longer. Commit to just 30 minutes towards your dream each day. Small and consistent steps make all the difference. Create a support system and set up mechanisms that enable you to translate your intentions into action. Identify smaller projects or milestones that lead to your larger dream. Whether it's training for a marathon by participating in local fun runs or keeping a journal to track your progress, take tangible steps today.

6. Are you telling yourself: "I can't have my dream?"

It's common for many people to doubt their ability to live their dream. Often, beliefs that they can't make a living doing what they love or feelings of unworthiness hold them back. Remember, everyone has a dream, and everyone is destined to fulfil their purpose. Don't bury your dreams out of fear or self-doubt. Embrace your dreams and take the first step towards making them a reality.

7. Is it right for this time of your life?

It's very common for people I coach to have more than one dream. Often they have several. You can either go after all dreams in one go and accept they'll move a little differently or go after one and focus on it before doing another. There is no right answer, it's just a case of going after what feels right for you.
