About me

I am a highly qualified business/executive/life coach with over 30 years experience helping clients move forward, especially in their working lives, but also in their personal lives when this affects their working life.

I help solve practical or mind-set issues by focusing on solutions, often drawing on my deep and richly varied background and life experience for inspiration.

Having spent decades at senior management team level (large corporate to SME), helping CEOs, their SLTs, plus their managers, teams and individual staff, I don't think any issue that impacts your working life, career progression or effective business functionality would surprise me now. Areas of coaching I deal with

Other areas of coaching I deal with

I'm a specialist in company optimisation, equipping leadership teams for greater success so that they and their teams thrive... for strategic, interpersonal, operational and change factors.  Often, this is associated with sharpening purpose, enhancing how key people and teams relate to others to maximise effectiveness, plus aligning systems and processes to help support all that.  I can do this through the following ways:

1. 4-step company optimisation process, including a short training module on what really matters for success.
2. Leadership team coaching and executive coaching for individual leaders/managers.
3. Tricky business-critical projects - support/mentoring for senior leaders.
4. Mediation to help resolve team and family business 'issues'.
5. Preparing for your future - company sale and succession planning.

Fees

Additional information

Current offer: three-session 'package' for £240 +VAT (paid up front).

This is a special rate, so take advantage of it before I consider putting it back up. Due to my vast wealth of experience for workplace issues which people face (and helping them actually resolve them), this really is exceptional value for money.

These sessions are one hour each, on Zoom or Teams.

Session 1 - I listen to your story and your issues, ask questions all about this so that I can understand you and the context you operate in. I will then ask you to do a general personality psychometric assessment in your own time, along with possibly one or two questionnaires. These are to help me understand you at a deeper level.

Session 2 - We have a psychometric assessment (and questionnaire) feedback discussion, making sense of the results for your situation. This is often where clients have 'light bulb' moments about themselves in relation to their situation. You will then reflect on this further in your own time.

Session 3 - We have an action planning session, where you and I together consider all that we have learned and we decide what might be the best way(s) forward for you. It is quite possible that this is sufficient for you... it often is.

Note: additional sessions may be needed to help resolve 'bigger' matters.

When I work

Daytime and evening sessions are available.

Further information

Here are a few public testimonials from the many men and women I have coached from all sorts of different 'levels' and roles about their personal workplace issues - these five (amongst many others) can be found on my LinkedIn profile:

"Julian helped me understand my 'personality at work' with great clarity, what matters most in workplaces and how I can make a simple action plan to thrive in the right contexts. Julian is friendly, professional, insightful and tactful - I would highly recommend him as a career coach or mentor."

"Julian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his coaching. He provides clients with extremely helpful perspectives and insights in order to fully help them understand their current situation and the key drivers involved. He expertly utilises a range of techniques and methodologies enabling clients to find a change of direction. On the journey I found Julian to be constructive, committed and incredibly skilled in finding a new strategy for myself - the return on invested time was hugely worthwhile and I would highly recommend his services."

"Julian has excellent skills for coaching. He listens very carefully, asks great questions, challenges in a constructive way, and helps clients work out a realistic way forwards. I found him a very genuine person, who wants to help others find win-win solutions."

"Julian has helped me on a personal coaching basis and is very patient and understanding and has had great insight into the issues involved. I would recommend him most highly."

"I used Julian as an executive coach over a period of a few months during a period of upheaval and transition, when I had to make some key decisions that would have significant impact. Julian’s support and his experience as a coach and facilitator were invaluable to me during this period. He helped me firstly to understand which attributes of the possible solutions mattered most to me, and then to prioritise my options and identify different ways of moving forward. Julian seemed to instinctively know when to act as a sounding board and when to take on a facilitator role, and his unobtrusive style made it possible to make progress quickly and painlessly, even when considering quite sensitive matters."
