About me

If you're here, you might feel stuck about what's next in your career, want to gain a promotion, feel more confident, less stressed,  or make a change in another area of your life. I have over 18 years' experience as a fully qualifed coach, specialising in career coaching, to help you move forward with whatever you want to be different about your work or your life in general.

Down to earth and approachable, my background is in leading communications teams in Government, so I understand the busy, pressurised work environments that many of my clients are working in.  Coaching with me has helped my clients to:

  • Change career to work that's fulfilling and enjoyable for them
  • Improve their relationships with partners, family, friends and work colleagues
  • Increase their confidence and their ability to deal with their nagging “inner critic”
  • Gain a promotion and make their mark quickly in their new role
  • Enjoy their free time doing activities they love, without feeling guilty
  • Recover after a relationship break up

I specialise in career coaching - helping people find fulfilling work that's the best match for them, taking them from confusion to clarity. And I've trained hundreds of other coaches to do this too. Because I spent a long time feeling that my own career wasn't the right match for me, I know what it's like to feel frustrated about career direction and I particularly enjoy helping my clients to overcome barriers to finding the work they love. The process I use is great for personal development as well as career development.

About me and what clients say
I combined career coaching and life coaching with co-leading busy communications teams (as a jobshare) in government departments and agencies for 18 years. I was head of communications in my last role,  with a background in PR and marketing, so I understand the challenges of pressurised work.  As well as working with my private clients, I work as a corporate coach working with leaders  to help them to be as effective and as possible in their roles.

Here’s what one client has had to say about career coaching with me:

“I was unhappy in my work and desperate for a change but had no idea where to turn. Career coaching with Michelle helped me re-focus on what I really wanted from work and how to get it. I’ve now found a great new position that chimes with my values and that is much more than a 'just another job' for me.”

And here's what another client has said about life coaching with me:

"Michelle has been a Godsend. She has helped me realise that I was extremely stressed, bordering on manic and unhappy in my current role. She instilled in me the confidence to look after myself and to stop the people pleasing. She probably saved my life in all honesty, as I managed to slow down and evaluate what was important to me before I got seriously ill. Michelle’s manner is warm, approachable yet action based. Everybody needs a Michelle in their life – money well invested!"

How I work
I work with people over Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, Skype and once Covid restrictions are lifted, I'll hopefully, soon see people face to face again in Twickenham. The number of sessions people have depends on what they want to get from their coaching but to create real, lasting change, I recommend a minimum of six life coaching sessions over two to three months. And for career coaching, the minimum number of sessions varies from six to twelve.
