About me

Emerge Coaching & Mentoring for Young Males

WHAT?

  • 1:1 and group support for young males aged between 16-24
  • To support young males with their mental, emotional and physical health
  • A safe and confidential space to talk and express how you/they feel, think and see the world: without fear of judgement, criticism or ridicule.
  • To empower the young male to take responsibility for their life and choices.

WHY?

From a young age, males are often told that ‘being a man’ means you need to be tough, strong, dominant and show no weaknesses. Emotions and feelings are left unacknowledged or bottled-up, and left to manifest only as anger and sometimes aggression.

Young males are often under a lot of pressure to prove their masculinity in ways that put them and others at risk, and they are influenced by cultural expectations of how they should be behave.

Stereotypes associated with “being a man” can be harmful for young males as they don’t allow the space for the individual to fully express themselves and their emotions, and this will have a massive impact on the quality of their relationship with themselves and others.

OUR AIM is to intervene early enough in a young males life, and to engage in a conversation around what ‘being a man’ means, on their terms. This way, they can begin to see the world from a confident position and make decisions in their life that empowers their identity.

FAQ

  • What are your costs?

If you are interested in discussing the above services, please contact Matt to arrange a short chat about yours or your sons circumstances.

I offer a free, no obligation, consultation meeting before any decision to work together is made. After this meeting, I can send you details of my packages & pricing structures.

  • Are your services confidential?

Yes, 100%. The contracted relationship is between the coach & mentor and the young male. Anything that is discussed during sessions stays between the two individuals, and is not reported back to parents. If parents wish to be involved in the sessions this needs to be agreed with the young male before an agreement to work together is finalised.
