About me

Coach & Mentor for Boys and Young Men

My Approach -
My aim is to provide a safe, no-pressure space where boys and young men feel comfortable to talk freely. I’m here to listen, to affirm their experiences, and to help build their self-belief, confidence and a strong sense of identity in a way that feels right for them.

What I Offer - 1:1 Support for Young Men aged 12–24

  • A safe and confidential space to talk about thoughts, feelings, and beliefs — without fear of judgement or criticism.
  • Encouragement and gentle support for personal growth, while also offering an outlet for worries and concerns.
  • Practical tools and ideas to help build confidence, wellbeing and a stronger sense of self.

How Sessions Work

  • Free, no-obligation first chat: This is an opportunity to get to know each other — by phone, online or in-person — with no pressure to commit.
  • Flexible packages of six sessions, each lasting 45 minutes.
  • Sessions can take place weekly or every other week — whatever suits best.
  • Based in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, and Brighton, East Sussex — with online sessions available anywhere via Zoom.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do sessions cost? I offer a free, no-obligation consultation call to help you decide if this is right for you. After that, I’ll share my package options and pricing in full transparency. Please feel free to reach out for a chat first — I’m happy to answer any questions you have.

Is everything confidential? Yes — what’s shared in sessions stays between us. Nothing will be shared with parents or guardians unless we all agree otherwise beforehand. The only exception would be for safeguarding reasons, which I’ll explain clearly in our first call.

Is this therapy or counselling? No — I’m not a therapist or counsellor. My work is coaching and mentoring, focused on listening, supporting and encouraging. If you’re looking for therapy or counselling, I’m happy to help you find the right support.

What can you help with? Here are some areas I often support young men with:

  • Confidence & self-esteem
  • Worries, anxiety & stress
  • Understanding anger & fear
  • ADHD & neurodiversity
  • Friendships & relationships
  • School, exams & next steps
  • Career choices
  • Identity & masculinity
  • Body image, fitness & wellbeing
  • Building good habits
  • Communication skills
  • Hobbies, interests & finding purpose

And much more — if you’re not sure, just ask. Every conversation is unique.

If you’d like to know more, please feel free to call or email me. I’m always happy to have an informal chat to see if this could be helpful for you or your son.

Testimonials

"Working with Matt has been absolutely life changing, he has a huge talent for connecting with people no matter what their background is and has a fresh outlook on the world and the society we live in. He has helped me step out of my comfort zone and given me the confidence and self belief to achieve my dreams, and doing what I love has made me happier than I have ever been. He is a wonderful coach and I would recommend him to anyone." B Brown

"Matt has a wonderful enthusiasm and positive approach to life coupled with the ability to really understand the pressures of today’s society which makes him an ideal person to help young people. He has helped my son grow in confidence, shown  him how to manage  his emotions, how to present himself and communicate more effectively with people and how to overcome challenging issue that he finds worrying. He has provided  an environment  for him to be able to discuss his anxieties and problems without embarrassment or judgement. As a result of the sessions he now believes he can achieve his ambitions and dreams and has put into place the necessary building blocks to fulfil these both on a vocational and social level. As a parent I would recommend Matt without hesitation." S Brown

"I had found myself stuck in a rut and it was getting harder to change my ways. I booked some sessions, and am so pleased I did. His kind, calm manner and patience to listen, no matter how big or small my obstacles were was comforting. His methods and phrases will stay with me for years to come. Will 100% recommend to anyone." J Gorman

"Being coached has been such a valuable experience. From day one we built great rapport and trust. Matt is neutral and free of judgement, professional, and positively challenging – keeping me on track and helping me learn and develop. This meant I felt comfortable disclosing very personal insights and thoughts that I have not verbalised to other close friends and family." C Moore

"Matt really helped me to open up new possibilities that I had never considered. I feel much closer to my goals and have a definite action plan that I know I am capable of following." J Devonshire

"Matt helped me with various concerns I had in my life that were causing anxiety. I found his style and method to be very effective and he worked with me and tailored his approach to get the best participation from me. I often got frustrated that I couldn’t explain how I was feeling but Matt was always patient and listened to what I was saying before coming back with a question that helped me to open up and get the best out of our sessions."
