Life and Helath Coach helping high-achieving professionals

About me

Katinka Blackford Newman PCC - Life Coach, Health Coach & Personal Trainer for high-achieving professionals

Most of my clients don't need more information.

They already know they should exercise more, eat better, set boundaries, have difficult conversations, apply for the promotion, leave the job, start the business, or put themselves back out there after divorce.

The problem isn't knowledge. It's getting unstuck.

I work with ambitious mid-life professionals who look successful on the outside but know they are capable of more. Some are struggling with burnout, weight gain, low energy, loss of confidence, relationship challenges or a growing sense that life no longer fits.

Others are navigating major transitions such as divorce, empty nest, retirement, career change or rebuilding after a difficult period.

My approach is unusual because I combine life coaching, health coaching and fitness training.

I believe lasting change happens when we work on both mind and body. When your energy improves, your confidence improves. When your confidence improves, better decisions follow.

Together we focus on the areas that matter most to you, which may include:

• Weight loss and improved fitness

• Better energy, sleep and health habits

• Greater confidence and self-belief

• Career progression, promotion or reinvention

• Mid-life dating and relationships

• Retirement planning and life after work

• Building a business or pursuing a long-held ambition

• Breaking patterns of overthinking, procrastination or people-pleasing

• Creating a life that feels fulfilling rather than simply busy

Before becoming a coach, I spent more than twenty years as an award-winning documentary filmmaker and journalist. My job was to understand people, identify what was really going on beneath the surface, and help make sense of complex situations.

Today I bring those same skills to coaching.

Clients often tell me I quickly spot the patterns they cannot see themselves, ask the questions nobody else asks, and help them take action rather than staying stuck in analysis.

Alongside my coaching qualifications, I am a qualified fitness instructor, health journalist, author and host of The Med Free Mental Fitness Podcast.

Whether your goal is losing weight, finding a new direction, rebuilding confidence after a setback, improving your relationships or creating a healthier and more energised life, my role is to help you move forward with clarity, courage and practical action.

Because life is too short to spend years knowing what you want while remaining stuck exactly where you are.

I offer a free 45 minute chemistry call so we can discuss your goals.

If I do not feel I am the best person to help, I will always be honest and say so.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m an ICF-credentialed coach (PCC) and Level 3 personal trainer  with extensive experience supporting high-achieving professionals through periods of transition, burnout, career change,  fitness challenges and rebuilding their lives.

I trained with the internationally recognised Co-Active Training Institute (CTI) and with Origym as a personal fitness trainer.  My coaching combines practical strategy with deep personal development work, helping clients create meaningful, lasting change rather than surface-level fixes.

Alongside coaching, I bring more than 25 years’ experience as an award-winning BBC-trained documentary filmmaker, journalist and interviewer, giving me a strong understanding of human behaviour, psychology and communication. I integrate mental fitness tools, values-based coaching and accountability practices to help clients move from feeling stuck to feeling clear, energised and purposeful.

I am also trained in Positive Intelligence (PQ), a mental fitness approach developed by Shirzad Chamine, which helps clients recognise the inner “saboteurs” that drive self-doubt, overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing and stress. Using these tools, I help clients build greater resilience, emotional agility and self-command so they can respond to challenges with more clarity, confidence and purpose.

Additional information

My fees typically range between £85 and £200 per session, depending on the length of the session, level of support required, and the structure of the coaching package. Some clients prefer standalone sessions, while others choose more intensive programmes which include longer sessions, accountability, WhatsApp or email support between sessions, and tailored exercises or reflections to help maintain momentum. I aim to offer flexible options so clients can choose the level of support that best fits both their goals and their budget.

Alongside my standard coaching packages, I offer a small number of reduced-fee scholarship places each year for people facing financial constraints but who are deeply committed to making meaningful changes in their lives. These places are limited and offered on an individual basis.

Further information

My coaching is designed to create real, measurable change rather than endless talking about problems. I work with clients in a structured but highly personalised way, combining deep reflective work with practical action and accountability. Most clients begin with an intensive Life MOT session where we look at the whole picture using tools such as the Wheel of Life, exploring areas including career, relationships, confidence, health, purpose and lifestyle. From there, we identify what is keeping them stuck, what they truly want, and the specific changes needed to move forward.

I offer a range of coaching packages depending on the level of support clients are looking for, from one-off deep dive sessions to longer transformational programmes. My most popular packages include a comprehensive Life MOT intensive, a six-session coaching programme for focused change, and a premium 12-week Accelerator programme for clients wanting significant transformation with ongoing support and accountability between sessions.

Many clients come to coaching wanting help with one issue, but quickly realise the shifts they are looking for require a more holistic approach to how they are living, working and relating to themselves.
