About me
Hi, I'm Katinka Blackford Newman, an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and I help people who feel stuck, at a crossroads or ready for change.
You may be questioning your career or relationship, rebuilding confidence after a setback, struggling to make changes to your health or lifestyle, or simply wondering what you want the next chapter of your life to look like.
Although people often come to coaching with one particular issue they want to solve, I coach the whole person rather than the issue in isolation. We step back and look at the bigger picture, gaining clarity on where you are now, what you really want and what may be getting in the way.
For me, coaching creates something that's often missing in busy lives: the time and space to think clearly about what you really want and live a life that is intentional, rather than one that just happens.
My style is warm, practical and challenging. I won't tell you what to do, but I will ask questions that help you see things differently, challenge assumptions that may be holding you back and support you in turning insight into meaningful action.
I'm an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), trained in Co-Active coaching and Positive Intelligence®, as well as a health coach and qualified personal trainer, published author and health journalist. Before becoming a coach, I spent many years as a documentary filmmaker, making programmes for the BBC, Netflix and HBO.
I usually work with clients for between three and six months but rather than asking you to commit to a fixed coaching package from the outset, we work on a rolling monthly basis. This gives you the continuity needed to create meaningful change, with the flexibility to decide as our work develops how long you want to continue.
Sessions are generally online, with in-person coaching also available in London.

I offer a complimentary 45-minute chemistry call so that we can talk about what's happening in your life, what you'd like to change and whether we're a good fit to work together.

Training, qualifications & experience
I’m an ICF-credentialed coach (PCC) with extensive experience supporting high-achieving professionals through periods of transition, burnout, career change, fitness challenges and rebuilding their lives.
I trained with the internationally recognised Co-Active Training Institute (CTI). My coaching combines practical strategy with deep personal development work, helping clients create meaningful, lasting change rather than surface-level fixes.
Alongside coaching, I bring more than 25 years’ experience as an award-winning BBC-trained documentary filmmaker, journalist and interviewer, giving me a strong understanding of human behaviour, psychology and communication. I integrate mental fitness tools, values-based coaching and accountability practices to help clients move from feeling stuck to feeling clear, energised and purposeful.
I am also trained in Positive Intelligence (PQ), a mental fitness approach developed by Shirzad Chamine, which helps clients recognise the inner “saboteurs” that drive self-doubt, overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing and stress. Using these tools, I help clients build greater resilience, emotional agility and self-command so they can respond to challenges with more clarity, confidence and purpose.
I'm also a Level 3 Personal Trainer and I offer health coaching for people who want to focus on fitness, weight loss and other health goals.

Additional information
My fees typically range between £85 and £200 per session, depending on the length of the session, level of support required, and the structure of the coaching package. Some clients prefer standalone sessions, while others choose more intensive programmes which include longer sessions, accountability, WhatsApp or email support between sessions, and tailored exercises or reflections to help maintain momentum. I aim to offer flexible options so clients can choose the level of support that best fits both their goals and their budget.
Alongside my standard coaching packages, I offer a small number of reduced-fee scholarship places each year for people facing financial constraints but who are deeply committed to making meaningful changes in their lives. These places are limited and offered on an individual basis.

Further information
My coaching is designed to create real, measurable change rather than endless talking about problems. I work with clients in a structured but highly personalised way, combining deep reflective work with practical action and accountability. Most clients begin with an intensive Life MOT session where we look at the whole picture using tools such as the Wheel of Life, exploring areas including career, relationships, confidence, health, purpose and lifestyle. From there, we identify what is keeping them stuck, what they truly want, and the specific changes needed to move forward.
I offer a range of coaching packages depending on the level of support clients are looking for, from one-off deep dive sessions to longer transformational programmes. My most popular packages include a comprehensive Life MOT intensive, a six-session coaching programme for focused change, and a premium 12-week Accelerator programme for clients wanting significant transformation with ongoing support and accountability between sessions.
Many clients come to coaching wanting help with one issue, but quickly realise the shifts they are looking for require a more holistic approach to how they are living, working and relating to themselves.
