About me
Hi, I’m Carl.
I’m excited to help you explore the possibilities that open up when coaching is tailored to exactly who you are.
I work with adults of all genders to help you reconnect with your true self. My philosophy is simple: I focus on you, rather than just surface-level goals or issues. Once we get that foundation right, everything else naturally falls into place.
I also specialise in a refreshing, research-backed approach to ADHD. Forget rigid timers and generic productivity hacks—we focus on learning to work with your brain rather than fighting it. It takes time, but once you stop struggling against your ADHD, the daily friction fades, and a genuinely fulfilling life opens up.
The Beauty of Authenticity
Authenticity is that beautiful sense of peace you feel when you express your true self, rather than who you think you should be. We all have it in us, but as we grow up, we paradoxically learn to listen to everyone but ourselves.
How We'll Work Together
My coaching helps you reclaim that authentic voice in three key ways:
- Listening: Tuning in to what your thoughts and emotions are actually telling you.
- Accepting: Embracing your unique values, strengths, quirks, and even your limitations and vulnerabilities.
- Acting: Taking daily steps that express who you genuinely are and want to be.
What You Will Experience
You will get so much out of this journey, but the core transformations include:
- Deeper Self-Awareness: No more feeling disconnected or like you’re walking through an airport carrying somebody else’s suitcase.
- Inner Peace: Less anxiety as you learn to love yourself, make peace with the past, and stop worrying about the future.
- Clarity and Purpose: A clearer mind to help you tune out others' expectations, make choices that work for you, and discover what truly drives you.
Walking Your Own Path
Ultimately, embracing your authenticity unlocks a richer, more colourful life because you're finally looking at the world through your own eyes. You’ll be able to connect with others without fear of rejection and embrace new experiences. Success and achievement aren't just destinations. They are the deep satisfaction and pride you feel when you are finally walking a path that belongs entirely to you.
A Safe Space for Deep Change
Coaching offers something that friends, family, and colleagues rarely can – a dedicated environment where you are free to truly be yourself. Deep, lasting change requires trust, and that begins with the relationship we build.
I don’t give you advice because it never works. I see my role as to hold space for what you're going through, help you think more clearly, and allow you to apply what you learn from me to your own life. When you feel heard, validated, and safe, magical things can happen.
What We Can Navigate Together
Building on our goal of finding your authentic self, clients specifically work with me to:
- Navigate major life changes or uncertainty.
- Manage stress, pressure, and feelings of overwhelm.
- Make difficult decisions with greater confidence.
- Strengthen their relationships and communication.
- Build true confidence through real-world experience, not just reassurance.
The Science and Emotion of Change
My coaching is conversational and responsive, blending a person-centred approach with evidence-based positive psychology and neuroscience. We start with your experience, not a rigid program, to understand why familiar patterns persist and how lasting change actually happens.
Because of my background as a qualified counsellor, I also deeply understand the emotional side of change. We pay close attention to the thoughts and feelings that influence your journey, and I’ll introduce practical tools to help you translate these insights into everyday action.
Getting Started
I offer 60-minute and 90-minute sessions, both in person and online via Google Meet.
Before we dive in, you are welcome to book a complimentary video consultation. It’s a relaxed opportunity for us to meet, discuss what brings you to coaching, and decide if we are the right fit for each other.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am not a qualified coach in the ways other coaches might be. That's because as deeply empathetic and compassionate person, I believe in your capacity to grow and know how to take what I give you and apply it your life. I don't feel coaching qualifications or frameworks achieve that. I am a member of the Association for Coaching and certified to Ofqual Level 5 in Positive Psychology. That's what sets me apart. I use research backed psychoeducation and tools that are appropriate to you where you are. Coaching is also about your uniqueness.
I am a qualified person-centred Counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and work within established ethical and professional frameworks. My counselling training has provided a strong foundation in relational practice, emotional wellbeing, communication, self-awareness, and reflective practice, which also informs the way I work as a coach. I work ethically, with a strong focus on professional boundaries, psychological safety, confidentiality, and working in the best interests of clients.
Alongside my counselling background, I am trained in positive psychology and integrate evidence-informed approaches relating to wellbeing, resilience, motivation, strengths development, and sustainable personal growth into my coaching work. This combination of counselling and positive psychology training provides a psychologically informed approach that supports both personal insight and practical development.
My experience includes working with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, low confidence, burnout, relationship difficulties, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and questions around identity, direction, and meaning. I also work with professionals and leaders seeking greater clarity, resilience, confidence, and wellbeing within personal and professional contexts.
A key part of my work is supporting people who may benefit from a bridge between counselling and coaching. Some clients reach a point where they no longer need therapy-focused support but still want space for reflection, growth, direction, and personal development. My approach allows clients to continue building self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful progress while maintaining a psychologically informed and person-centred foundation.
In addition to one-to-one work, I have experience delivering psychoeducational workshops and wellbeing-focused sessions exploring areas such as mental health, masculinity, resilience, emotional development, and relationships.
Member organisations
The Association for Coaching is one of the leading professional bodies for Coaches and Organisations.
The Association is made up of a number of different membership categories, e.g. Associate Member (AMAC), Member (MAC), Accredited Member (AC Accred), with the different categories standing for different levels of training and experience. Accredited Members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
The Association has a Code of Ethics & Good Practice and a Complaints Procedure.

I also have a particular interest in relationship dynamics, masculinity and the social roles that shape identity, emotion and behaviour within modern life. This includes exploring how expectations around being a provider, protector, fixer or caregiver can influence emotional expression, confidence, pressure, communication and self-worth for both men and women.
My work considers how social and relational expectations can shape coping strategies, relationship patterns and emotional wellbeing, while helping clients develop greater self-awareness, healthier communication and more authentic ways of relating to themselves and others.
