Short steps - big leaps
My thought for the week focuses on goals.
When we set unachievable goals we are almost certain to fail.
I had a first-hand experience of this earlier in the week when I bit off much more than I could chew on the golf course.
Although a wonderful experience, playing at St Georges was clearly a step too far for a hacker such a s myself. Every hole created a sense of anxiety, which caused me to lose focus, and inevitably play a poor shot.
Lesson – take one step at a time – next week I will play with my regular hackers and look for a small decrease in my score.
So next time you are planning a big change, work on the small steps and the large leaps will eventually look after themselves.
