We're now on the letter O, where O stands for 'open mind'.

A few years ago I took a trip to Disneyland in Paris with the family. When you walk around the wonderful world of Disney and listen to the songs, you'll notice that there is a Disney mantra going on where you're encouraged to dream and believe anything is possible. Some call it cheesy but it certainly works for our non-cynical children!

As much as I believe that it is important to dream big when it comes to career, it takes a lot more than simply dreaming to find work you'll love. It's important to have an open mind about what your options are. 

Firstly it's important to have an open mind about the jobs that actually exist. Think about it. There are only a small number of jobs that you are aware of compared to the jobs that actually exist. In fact, new job roles are being created all the time. So make a conscious effort to speak to people you come into contact with about the job they do. Be curious.

It's also important to have an open mind about what you are actually capable of. Marianne Williamson said that our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate but that we are powerful beyond measure. She goes on to say that it is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

Just think for a moment about what you can achieve if you simply have an open mind about the opportunities that exist and what you are capable of if you are serious about finding work you'll love.
