Level up your life!

Often, we use the term 'level up', but have you taken the time to understand what this means? Imagine you're in the Eiffel Tower and on the ground floor overlooking the Parisian traffic. Am I going to want to 'level up'? Eh, yes! Why? Because I will enjoy a better view, perspective, and experience.

So what does it mean to 'level up' your life? Well, for me, it means to grow, build on what you know, and build on who you are and what you do. This is also known as 'personal development', working on yourself to become the best version of yourself.

Let's hone in on the 'building on who you are' part. You cannot remake yourself; you are formed of a range of values, talents and gifts that make up your being. You are you! When it comes to levelling up your life. It starts by embracing you, who you are, your gifts and your talents and recognising all that you need is within.

You don't need to become anyone else or compare yourself to anyone else. I repeat - you are you.

What's coaching got to do with it?

Back to being on the ground floor of the Eiffel Tower whilst you focus on the traffic, feeling overwhelmed, distracted and stuck. A coach helps you go up a bit higher and see the same landscape from a different perspective on all those things within you that are already there.

Here are some more ways to level up in life:

  • Prioritise self-care: Your well-being matters. Prioritise activities such as exercise, proper nutrition, and quality sleep. Taking care of yourself gives you more energy and clarity to tackle other areas of your life.
  • Celebrate your wins: Celebrate you! You are great; you are amazing. Celebrate your goals, whether big or small, if you are achieving and working towards your goals.
  • Learn new skills: Learning a new skill will allow you to tap into a new part of you that you didn't know existed! In trying something new, you'll experience a fresh air of confidence that will infect other aspects of your life.
  • Read a personal development book: I'm a big believer in learning from both mistakes and successes. What you can learn in 10 years, can be learnt through 10 pages.
  • Set a new goal: This will allow you to challenge yourself, remain focused, and remain intentional about your actions.
  • Hand around those who inspire: There's nothing worse than being around people who drain you, make you feel low and put you down. Being around those will aspirations and dreams are only motivating and energising.
  • Take calculated risks: Stepping out of your comfort zone is essential for growth. Identify areas where fear or self-doubt is holding you back and challenge yourself to take calculated risks. Whether it's pursuing a new career, starting a business, or trying a new hobby.
  • Practice gratitude: Cultivate gratitude by regularly acknowledging and appreciating the positive aspects of your life. Keep a gratitude journal, express appreciation to others, or take a moment each day to reflect on what you are grateful for.
  • Develop positive habits: Identify and integrate habits that support your goals into your daily routine. For example, establish a morning routine with activities like exercise or journaling. Focus on small, consistent actions that lead to long-term positive changes.
