Coaching - Personal Development and Relationship Coaching

About me

Adapting to changes in our lives, work or home,  can be very stressful.  Many people are still working from home and losing the benefit of social contact with colleagues.  Couples spend more time together if both are working from home, without the freedom to go out and relax in company.  If you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed or wondering how you could do things differently,  coaching could be the solution.  I work with individuals  supporting you with improving your well being, confidence, and relationships. I trained as a Couple Counsellor with Relate and use coaching to work effectively with couples who are planning a new phase in their lives.

My background includes working closely with adults and young people facilitating learning, mentoring and advising on career choices from over 20 years as a Psychology A level teacher and tutor.  Therefore I have an understanding of the demands and pressures, both professional and personal,  that working in education entails.  A change in managing these conflicting demands, or a change in career, may need a change in vision and I can help you find your way.

I want to know what motivates you and what holds you back, to identify your strengths and clarify your values. We will find ways you can use those strengths and values to work through the challenges that you are facing, whether this is seeking new career opportunities, starting afresh after relationship issues or managing a new life transition.  From education to work, work to parenting, parenting and back to work, 'empty nest', retirement ... sometimes these changes can feel unexpectedly overwhelming.

There is no magic solution in coaching! You will have to be committed and it will take effort. I adapt my approach to individuals and working together we will find the method that works best for you based on your situation. You will get a greater understanding of what you really want, what gets in the way of you achieving that and how you can develop the confidence to make changes and move forward. You can learn strategies to manage stress and anxiety and develop your own work/life balance based on what you believe to be important.

Confidential coaching sessions usually last 90 minutes (except for the first free introductory meeting) and we will meet every 2 to 4 weeks. You will be able to email me between sessions when you need support.  I prefer to work face to face, though the introductory session is usually online.
