ICF certified Career and Executive Coach

About me

Hi I am Sarah, a friendly, fully certified and highly experienced Career and Executive Coach.

I help people like you, make decisions about their career paths, goals, and job search strategies. I offer guidance, tools, and support to professionals at different stages of their work life — whether someone is choosing a career, looking for a new job, changing industries, or aiming for a promotion.

Specifically, I might help you:

  • Figure out what kinds of jobs fit your strengths and interests
  • Create or improve your résumé, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile
  • Prepare for interviews
  • Build confidence and set career goals
  • Navigate difficult career transitions, like redundancy or career changes
  • Develop skills like networking, negotiation, or personal branding
  • Enhance your leadership and professional skills
  • Teach you how to network
  • Guide you on how to influence

With seven years of coaching experience and a background in corporate consulting (plus time as a full-time mum), I bring deep insight into workplace dynamics. I now support professionals from global brands like Amazon, Microsoft, and Morgan Stanley, as well as talent from mid-sized firms and start-ups, helping them navigate career growth and challenges.

What to expect working in coaching with me:

- A Safe, Supportive Space...each session is a confidential, non-judgemental environment where you’re free to explore your goals, challenges, and thoughts openly.

- Personalised Focus.... Sessions are tailored to your specific needs—whether you're navigating a career transition, seeking clarity, building confidence, or striving for better balance.

- Thought-Provoking Dialogue....Expect powerful questions, reflective exercises, and new perspectives designed to deepen self-awareness and unlock fresh possibilities.

- Action-Oriented Outcomes......You’ll leave each session with clearer insight and practical next steps that move you toward your goals.

- Holistic and Human-Centred Approach....We’ll consider both your professional and personal well-being—because thriving at work shouldn’t come at the cost of your whole self.

What to expect in our first session:

Your first session is all about getting to know you—where you are now, what’s on your mind, and what you’d like to move toward.

Here’s what we’ll typically cover:

Welcome & Grounding
We’ll start by setting the tone for our work together and creating a safe, confidential space where you can speak freely.

Exploring Your Story
I’ll ask thoughtful, open-ended questions to understand your current career landscape, challenges, values, and aspirations.

Clarifying Focus
Together, we’ll start to define what you’d like to get out of coaching—whether that’s clarity, direction, confidence, or support through change.

Setting the Foundation
We’ll discuss how we’ll work together, what coaching is (and isn’t), and agree on the approach and pace that works best for you.

First Insights & Next Steps
You’ll leave the session with some initial reflections, shifts in perspective, and a sense of where we might focus going forward.

Here is a flavour of what my clients have experienced in their career journeys and how I have helped them. (Every client testimonial is genuine and can be found on my LinkedIn profile or Google Reviews):

Career changer, Sophie X, VP at an investment bank: I came across Sarah's profile at a time when I was feeling overwhelmed, burnt out and stuck in my career and life. The points she made in her posts really resonated with me, and I knew she would understand how I felt and what I was going through. From the get go, she identified all the areas of concern that I was too scared to admit. Her technique is firm but compassionate, empathetic and supportive. She brought an objective and guiding light into the medley of confusion that I had. She is helping me to work on low self esteem, boundaries, career objectives and more. She provides tools for the long term. I'm grateful for the guidance and support she has provided thus far. I would recommend Sarah to anyone who is looking for guidance at any point in their career path!

Taking a break, then stepping up a level at a new firm, Fan J, Director, Investment Bank: I had the pleasure to work with Sarah as my career coach. In the past weeks, her help and guidance has truly been instrumental in terms of: (1) elevating me from the career burnout I have been experiencing; (2) giving me practical advice and coaching in advocating for myself at workplace and successfully negotiating a sabbatical. A hallmark of Sarah's approach has been a level of openness and compassion which differentiates her from other career coaches/psychiatrists - she always comes from a place of open-mindedness. I look forward to working with her on more holistic career & wellness management which she's highly experienced in. Thank you Sarah - you've been amazing

Developing an empowering and empathic leadership style: Rebecca B, Director, ecommerce retailer: I highly recommend Sarah as a business leadership coach specialising in leadership, emotional intelligence, and the art of influence. Sarah's guidance in managing a multi-generational workforce especially understanding and engaging Gen Z has been invaluable. Sarah is helping  me develop practical strategies to connect with all team members, improve communication, and foster collaboration across generations. Her insightful coaching has truly enhanced my leadership skills and ability to understand my team and motivate in today’s evolving workplace.

Managing Menopause in work: Sandra V, Senior Manager, Top 2 tech company: Sarah Ruse is an outstanding career coach. Her honesty, friendliness, and unwavering support have been invaluable to me. Notably, Sarah excels at helping women navigate difficult life transitions, such as menopause and maternity whilst maintaining a career. She guided me through my blocks and empowered me to establish new beliefs. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

Navigating a confidence crisis, growing her business: Mollie S, CEO small business: I found Sarah on Instagram and we set up a call straight away. I explained how I felt and she immediately recognised and reassured me. I felt SO much better after a few sessions and I feel completely back on track and back to my normal confident self with an informed view on what was holding me back and a strategy to move forward. SUPER HAPPY.

Navigating redundancy and securing a new role: Georgie K, Marketing Manager, Tech company: I had the privilege of working with Sarah as my career coach for a couple of months, and I am immensely grateful for her guidance. During our time together, Sarah played a crucial role in helping me navigate through redundancy, both mentally and tactically. Her support not only boosted my confidence but also equipped me with the necessary tools to secure interviews at my desired firms. Sarah's expertise spans a wide range, and her dedication to helping others overcome challenges and achieve their goals is truly commendable. I couldn't recommend Sarah more highly for anyone seeking professional guidance and support in their career journey.

Navigating redundancy as a top performer: Ainhoae C, Senior Manager, Top tier tech company: I was let go from my dream company while struggling with strong menopausal symptoms during a period when the job market was brought to a near standstill (partly due to the American elections and then because of Trump's rise to power). When hiring finally resumed, demand in the tech sector surged so abruptly that it took months for interview opportunities to materialise. Competition has been fierce, but fortunately, I’ve now secured a new role. Sarah has been instrumental in helping me maintain my sanity and motivation throughout these gruelling months. I simply could not have managed without her unwavering support and feel eternally grateful to her. Many thanks, Sarah!
