About me

Paula Howell – The Self-Image Transformation Coach

Helping women reconnect with themselves, rebuild their confidence and learn to like the woman they see in the mirror.
Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, “I don't recognise myself anymore”?

Perhaps life has changed you. Your relationships, career, motherhood, menopause, loss, separation or simply the passing of time may have left you feeling disconnected from the woman you once were. You may have lost confidence, stopped making an effort with yourself, changed the way you dress, or found yourself hiding rather than expressing who you really are.

You may know that you want something to change, but you're not quite sure where to start.

This is where my work begins.

I am Paula Howell, a Self-Image Transformation Coach, and I help women reconnect with who they are, develop a healthier relationship with themselves and feel more confident in how they show up in the world.

My approach is different because I don't see confidence and appearance as separate. How we see ourselves can influence how we feel, how we behave, what we believe we are capable of and how visible we allow ourselves to be.

I combine my background in psychology, counselling, coaching, colour and personal styling to create a holistic approach to self-image and personal transformation.

What we can work on
My coaching can help if you are experiencing:

Low self-confidence or self-esteem

Feeling uncomfortable or disconnected from your appearance

Struggling to recognise yourself after a major life change

Loss of identity or a feeling of “Who am I now?”

Negative thoughts about your appearance

Comparing yourself with other women

Feeling that you've lost your sense of personal style

Hiding behind oversized, dark or uninspiring clothing

Buying clothes but never feeling that they are “you”

Feeling overwhelmed or confused when shopping

Difficulty knowing what colours or styles suit you

Wanting to feel more confident being seen

Wanting to make changes but not knowing where to begin

Wanting your outside appearance to feel more aligned with who you are inside

This isn't simply about clothes
Colour and style are important parts of my work, but they are tools rather than the end goal.

For me, transformation begins with understanding the woman underneath the clothes.

We can explore questions such as:

Who am I now?

What has happened to my confidence?

What have I stopped doing for myself?

What beliefs do I hold about myself and my appearance?

What parts of myself have I hidden?

What do I want my life — and my identity — to look like now?

From there, colour and style can become a way of expressing that emerging identity.

You might discover that a particular colour makes you feel more visible, that a certain style makes you feel more like yourself, or that the clothes you've been wearing no longer reflect the woman you have become.

These seemingly practical discoveries can become powerful opportunities to challenge old beliefs and experiment with a different way of seeing yourself.

My approach
My work combines:

Psychological understanding – exploring the beliefs, experiences and patterns that can influence how you see yourself.

Coaching – helping you identify what you want to change and move towards the woman you want to become.

Self-image work – developing a more accepting and confident relationship with your appearance.

Identity work – exploring who you are now, particularly when life has changed.

Colour – discovering colours that complement you and exploring how colour can influence your mood, confidence and self-expression.

Personal style – understanding the shapes, fabrics, proportions and styles that help you feel comfortable and authentic.

Practical support – translating your discoveries into your wardrobe, shopping choices and everyday life.

What transformation can look like
Transformation doesn't necessarily mean becoming a completely different person.

Often, it is about coming back to yourself.

It might mean looking in the mirror without immediately criticising yourself.

It might mean wearing something you've always felt too self-conscious to wear.

It might mean walking into a room without automatically trying to make yourself smaller.

It might mean opening your wardrobe and actually knowing what works for you.

It might mean spending money more intentionally rather than buying clothes in the hope that they will make you feel better.

Or it might simply be the moment when you catch your reflection and think:

“That's me. I like her.”

A compassionate, individual approach
There is no single formula for confidence or self-image.

Your experiences, personality, body, lifestyle, identity and circumstances are unique to you. My role isn't to tell you who you should be or how you should look.

Instead, I help you discover what feels authentic, comfortable and empowering for you.

We work at your pace and focus on the areas that matter most to you.

Whether you want to rebuild your confidence after a major life change, rediscover your identity, improve your relationship with your appearance, understand your colours, develop your personal style or simply feel more like yourself again, we can create an approach around your individual needs.

You don't need to become someone else.
You may simply need to rediscover the woman you've lost sight of.

If you're ready to reconnect with yourself, rebuild your confidence and feel more comfortable being seen, I would love to support you on that journey.
