My Approach

Personal | Expert | Curious

Do you feel like you've spent years trying to fit into a world that wasn't designed for you? Whether you've recently received an ADHD, Autism, AuDHD or Dyslexia diagnosis, or you simply suspect you might be neurodivergent, my approach focuses entirely on you and your lived experience. As neurodivergent myself, I know firsthand how many difficulties could have been avoided with the right support, understanding, and self-reflection. That's exactly what I'm here to provide.

  • 💡 Did you know? If you have an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, coaching can often be funded through the Government's Access to Work scheme, meaning it typically comes at no direct cost to you or your employer. Contact me to find out more.

My approach is to always lead with curiosity, reinforced by my Care Ethics approach. This means my focus is always on interpersonal connections, understanding how you feel and respond to others and to the situations you encounter. By working to understand this together, we can establish your goals and aspirations, and work towards honouring and making space for your genuine neurodivergent self.

Why Specialist Neurodiversity Coaching Helps

Whilst all coaching is useful in helping us understand and reach our goals, neurodiversity coaching ensures that the unique neurodivergent experience is always central to the work. I understand that individuals across the neurodiversity spectrum experience the world differently, whether that's executive function, communication styles, social demand, sensory stimulation, or something else entirely. A "one size fits all" approach simply doesn't work here. You, as a unique individual, need a coaching approach that genuinely understands your experiences and needs.

Neurodiversity coaching can help you to:

  • Understand yourself better through self-awareness and wholeness activities
  • Set realistic career goals, both short and long term
  • Find your own pace and direction without judgement
  • Identify your strengths and challenges through a neurodivergent lens, and develop strategies to work with them
  • Develop structure and routines for daily working life
  • Identify and implement workplace adjustments
  • Map out a sensory management strategy
  • Build an emotional regulation plan — identifying your triggers and learning how to honour and manage them

My personal experience

As a neurodivergant leader, I have faced countless difficulties and challenges that neurodiversity comes with. Fighting to stay focused, or becoming so absorbed in something I would forget to eat and drink. Being misunderstood, despite meticulously explaining every detail of my idea, and struggling with feelings of rejection (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria). Being praised for my strategic mind, but struggling to break the enigma of social norms. Despite knowing my strengths, the want of understanding from others, and lack of support, left me feeling “othered”, rather than accepted.

My professional experiences have highlighted the numerous and significant pitfalls that face neurodivergent individuals like me, and the lack of organisational support to help alleviate the daily challenges we face. But more than this, my experiences highlighted to me that treating neurotypical and neurodivergent people as "us and them" prevents all parties being heard and the best outcomes being achieved. Because of this, I have developed a unique approach that honours the neurodiverse (ADHD, Autistic (ASD), AuDHD (ADHD & Autism), or Dyslexic) experience and seeks to enable you to achieve your goals, whilst living a whole person, without the need for masking or hiding who you really are.
