Rachael Hope (she/her) ICF trained life coach

About us

Hello, I'm Rach.

I offer calm, practical 1:1 mental health coaching for adults experiencing mild anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, or loss of confidence — often triggered by a life change or transition.

If you've found yourself asking "whose life am I actually living?" or feeling like you've lost your footing, this is the kind of support that helps you find it again.

What mental health coaching is (and isn't)

My work is not therapy. I don't diagnose or treat mental health conditions. What I do offer is a thoughtful, skills-based space to understand what's going on for you — and start building the practical tools to navigate life more confidently.

My approach draws on evidence-based principles from CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which means we focus on:

Understanding unhelpful thinking patterns
Developing practical coping skills for everyday life
Reconnecting with your values and what matters to you
Moving forward at a pace that feels manageable

Who I work with

I support adults 18+ who are experiencing:

Mild anxiety or low mood
A shift in identity or confidence following a life transition (relationship breakdown, career change, family changes and more)
Self-doubt or a loss of sense of self
A need for practical, skills-based support rather than therapy

Important — who this isn't for

This coaching is not suitable for moderate or severe mental health difficulties, crisis support, or emergency care. I will always signpost clinical or medical support where appropriate.

Why work with me?

I bring 13 years of experience supporting people through real change — not just as a coach, but as a qualified Mental Health Nurse. That background means you're in genuinely safe hands when it comes to sharing difficult feelings and emotions.

I have specific experience working with neurodiversity, particularly ADHD, and understand that no two people — or their challenges — are the same. I'm pragmatic, creative, and honest in my approach. I won't just listen; I'll ask the right questions, help you see things differently, and compassionately challenge the self-limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck.

The goal? To help you feel steadier, more capable, and more like yourself again.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Story

I didn't start out as a coach. I started out as someone who wanted to be an actor.

As a child I was fascinated by human behaviour — the layers beneath what people show the world. That curiosity never left me, but somewhere in my 20s I stopped trusting it. I let other people's expectations drown out my own instincts, trained as a mental health nurse because it was "a good job," and spent years feeling quietly out of step with my own life.

Then I hit a crossroads. Personally and professionally, nothing felt aligned — and that discomfort turned out to be the most useful thing that ever happened to me. It pushed me to get curious about who I actually was and what I actually wanted. That's when coaching found me.

I've been using coaching skills throughout my mental health career for years, but in 2023 I completed my formal coaching qualification through Full Circle Global (ICF accredited) to deepen my practice. In 2024 I joined Lyra Health International as a mental health coach, completing their intensive specialist training.

What all of this means for you: I understand from the inside what it feels like to be lost, to live by someone else's script, and to find your way back to yourself. That's not just my training — it's my story. And it's why I do this work.

Areas of coaching we deal with

Other areas of coaching we deal with

I have recently completed mental health coach training with Lyra health international, which was an ICF accredited training. This has enhances my skills by combining my existing knowledge with new tools to use with clients, who might be experiencing mental health struggles.

**PLEASE NOTE** this is not a replacement for therapy. It is still coaching, but with the addition of tools that can directly support clients with low level anxiety and low mood.

Testimonials from recent clients

'I worked with Rachael initially to get some help around my imposter syndrome and my self-esteem. Rachael has been fantastic, her questioning allowed me various perspectives to consider, and she took what I believed were complex matters and broken them down into small steps to overcome. I am now in a place, mentally and physically, I wouldn’t have ever thought I would be. I don’t think I’d have got here without her. Thank you Rachael'  - JLK, Manchester
