About me

I'm a masters level qualified somatic trauma informed coach, trained in psychotherapy, yoga, pilates and holistic therapies. I specialise in trauma, neurodivergence and specifically ADHD, shame, and nervous system regulation. I support women to heal from traumatic events, regulating their nervous system through developing stronger connections to the mind-body.

I offer somatic movement, psychotherapy, life coaching and forest bathing, and women's groups. I support women to overcome stress, anxiety and depression. Helping them to build confidence to experience themself as resilient and empowered.

How I work

My approach utilises all the modalities I love so we can focus on building your confidence and self-esteem. I work integratively and holistically because I believe that no one condition or concern defines us. We are all influenced by our neurobiology, childhood, relationships, and experiences.

I use a three stage approach in my work with you to resource, explore, and integrate. This ensures we start with safety and progress at a pace that works for you, bringing lasting healing. I am essentially looking to help you build a bridge from the experiences that have caused pain or suffering to positive resources that give you inner strength and resilience.

I can support you with concerns like:

  • Healing from trauma and cPTSD or abuse
  • Resourcing to cope better with intense shame and negative self-talk
  • Recovery from relational trauma
  • Better communication to support relationships
  • Support and healing with chronic pain
  • Coaching for late diagnosis of neurodivergence
  • Tools to help with challenging family dynamics
  • Building confidence and self-esteem
  • Reconnecting with your sense of Self
  • Creating lasting relationships that nourish and protect
  • Goal setting to realise the life that you want

I live near a beautiful woodland and river so for in-person sessions I often take my clients out to utilise the natural healing surroundings of nature.

Resourcing: a period of getting to know each other to create a safe client-therapist relationship. We work together to identify the resources you need to support you, and recognise the resources you already have. This can take several sessions to ensure you don't get overwhelmed. Think of it as a kind of strength-building period where we ensure solid foundations are in place.

Exploration: this is where we can start to work with any traumatic experiences, challenges, or emotional difficulties you are dealing with. Through gentle exploration with nonjudgemental curiosity, we can look at what is causing you pain or suffering in your life. I use Internal Family Systems Therapy and Somatic Experiencing to help you make sense of your experiences.

We may circle back to resourcing if we need it. This stage takes as long as it takes. You dictate the pace.

Integration: through this stage we are looking at cementing the understanding and realisations you've experienced and discovered. We are making that connection between the struggles you've had and the positive resources you've developed, so that you can see you are so much more than your pain. This isn't to minimise or dismiss, but so that you can choose values based action that help you move toward the more joyful life you want to live.

I can't wait to start working with you to help you see that you are enough and everything you need is already within you. We just have to unlock it.

The Stories We Tell Ourselves

You are not alone if you feel confused and unsure of where your life is going. Or that your relationships are unsatisfying and full of bickering.

It's okay that you feel good one day and rubbish the next. Or think you've got it all sorted but then that feeling of certainty falls away leaving you empty and sad.

You are not bad, wrong, or somehow at fault if you find yourself talking negatively to yourself. Words like: 'I'm rubbish', 'I'm an awful parent', 'people would be better off without me', 'nobody would miss me'.

Does this sound like you?

We all have moments like that. These stories can make us feel lonely and alone. And like nobody understands us or our problems.

Sadly, there is no magic answer. But therapeutic coaching can help you get better at feeling. At noticing when you're having these thoughts and giving you practical tools and resources to help you.

Get in touch today for a free consultation with me if you'd like to talk about anything that has touched you in my words.

Further information

I use a system called Cliniko to manage all of my client records and to book, invoice, and manage our relationship. This means that all of your appointments go onto this system, your notes are stored there in compliance to GDPR rules and regulations, and your data is kept safe and secure.

You will also get email and text updates to remind you of your appointments.

I require 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment. I try to offer the same appointment time to a client each week so you can get into a rhythm of working together. There is no limit to how long we can work together, but I do conduct a regular review to check in how things are going and if we need to make any tweaks to your coaching programme.

I recommend buying yourself a dedicated notebook to use throughout our time together. This is so that you can set goals, write notes, and if we end up using some Internal Family Systems, we can write down everything and keep a track of what has shown up for you.

You can find out more about how I work on my website, but in summary here is a snapshot of the types of modalities I utilise in my practice:

  • Internal Family Systems: IFS is a psychotherapeutic approach that works on hidden parts of us, similar to sub-personalities. In IFS, it is believed that these parts take on extreme roles when we've experienced trauma of suffering. This can lead to us using coping mechanisms such as comfort eating, drinking alcohol, or having angry outbursts that can feel very shaming, especially for women. I work to uncover these parts and help you heal them so you can move on with your life with more ease and with better relationships with yourself and your loved ones
  • Somatic Therapy: This kind of therapy works with the Mind-Body to help us connect and understand the signals our body is sending us. So often, we are disconnected from our body, and it starts to hold onto trauma, shame, depression, anxiety in the form of aches, pains, and sickness. Through connecting with the body, we can rewire the brain to help alleviate these problems.
  • Trauma Informed Life Coaching: So many of us have experienced trauma, sometimes without even having realised. I use this kind of coaching to help you work through your goals and identify why it may have been difficult for you to have achieved them to date. It is a kind and nurturing approach to life coaching that recognises any pain you may have experienced, while celebrating your strengths and inner beauty.

I use all of the above in my sessions and more (for example, in person sessions we may include Art Therapy or Forest Bathing). I attune to your needs and goals and help you build a life you can feel happy with by connecting you into your Self energy.
