About me

My Background

I am a widely-experienced business leader and coach. I have worked for medium and large organisations for over 30 years, holding many roles during that time, the majority at senior management level leading large departments & teams.

Throughout my career, I have used my inspirational leadership skills to grow and develop individuals and teams, making a real difference to the people that I have worked with using my high levels of empathy & patience countered by a passion to always improve so that results are met, and targets exceeded.

I am passionate about my personal responsibility for learning & reflection, constantly improving my knowledge and understanding, learning new skills, and adapting to new roles and business areas through further education & study.

I live in south Manchester, and I work extensively throughout the United Kingdom. I am also available for international work, particularly in the USA where I have a base in Ohio.

My coaching experience includes:

Executive coaching, business coaching, personal transitional and change coaching, organisational development and change facilitation, organisational restructure including assessment centres and performance management, personal development, behavioural  competencies, building high performing teams, relationship building, motivation, networking, confidence building, leadership and management skills programmes, managing conflict and stress management coaching, goal setting, strategy facilitation, career development, outplacement programmes and interviewing skills, and career coaching.

Examples of feedback I've received:

Steph’s coaching helped me to develop a really clear business case for an adapted role in my organisation that best suited to my gifts, experience and career aspirations, aligning that with the needs of the business. Steph has challenged me to continue to seek to influence upwards from a stance of unconditional positive regard.

Steph combines a tangibly empathetic stance with a clear challenge based on my own articulated values, and a focus on my agenda and desired outcomes. She can confront me without me experiencing that in any way as judgement.

The feeling of being supported by Steph has increased my confidence in being direct, clear and helpful in my interactions at work. It has also given me greater confidence to attend to my own aspirations – to understand them and to begin to act on them now. My levels of anxiety are greatly reduced in the midst of a precarious work situation. I feel calm and able to make decisions about my own destiny.

I would not hesitate in recommending Steph to others. She has prompted deep and profoundly helpful reflection on my aspirations and values and enabled me to identify and take steps in the here and now to move towards my future and achieve greater integrity. This has been invaluable. If you’re thinking of receiving coaching from Steph I would say – do it! Steph’s coaching delivers real, tangible benefits and enables a clarity and calm that I would not have achieved by myself.

The first 30-40 minute session is complimentary, and if geography allows it's best over a tea/coffee - where we can discuss the programme you might need, the type of coaching you are seeking, get to know each other and discuss fees.

Sessions are conducted either face to face or via Skype/Zoom, depending on the client’s personal preference.

Where multiple sessions are booked, there will usually be 2-4 weeks between sessions.

It is my recommendation that whilst smaller numbers of coaching sessions can produce excellent results, the client should consider purchasing a minimum of 6 sessions to fully benefit from the coaching programme.

If the client requests that the Coach travels to their own location (home or nearby) for coaching sessions, travelling time will NOT be deducted from the sessions purchased however travelling expenses will be reimbursed by the client at a rate of £0.45p per mile (current HMRC guidelines) - location and expenses will be agreed during the induction session and added to the initial invoice.

Bespoke packages can be agreed to accommodate client’s requirements and circumstances.

All fees are to be paid in advance once the programme length is agreed.

48 hours notice is required for session cancellations, otherwise we reserve the right to charge for the missed session.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a life coach's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the life coach to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
