ADHD Specialist Coach for Late-diagnosed Women

About me

If you're a professional woman with late-diagnosed ADHD, you’re probably great at some things but exhausted from the effort of keeping day-to-day life together.

You know something needs to change, but you're just not sure what, or how.

You might be handling a demanding job or running your own business while dealing with menopause and juggling the needs of your own family and elderly parents. Other people probably see you as capable, reliable and steady. You’re the person everyone automatically turns to when something needs sorting out.

But blimey, keeping all those plates spinning is taking its toll. There’s always something unfinished, that nagging worry that you’ve forgotten something important, something you know you should have done by now, and that constant background feeling that you’re never quite on top of everything.

And what makes it so frustrating and confusing is that you know you’re capable. You can deal brilliantly with a crisis and then spend days avoiding a simple email. How can you be so good at some things and find things that look as though they should be easy so ridiculously difficult?

What’s going on?

When you don’t understand why this keeps happening, it’s easy to assume you just need to try harder. So, you work longer hours to catch up, go on a time management course, buy a book about ADHD. Each time you think, maybe this is it, maybe I’ve found the answer. But nothing really changes, and you just get more and more knackered and disheartened.

It's easy to end up thinking that maybe it’s just you and that you’re just not up to it.

But instead of blaming yourself, what if you got curious about what this means? Why are certain things so difficult, and what might that be telling you about what you need?

How coaching with me works

My approach is straightforward, down-to-earth, and practical.

We'll start with what's going on in your work and life. What’s working? What isn’t? Where do you keep getting stuck?

That might mean noticing what tips you into overwhelm, understanding why you keep getting stuck on certain tasks, making better use of your strengths, interrupting the boom-and-bust cycle, or finding simpler ways to manage things that take far more effort than they should.

Just to be clear, if you’re looking for “hacks” or quick fixes, then I’m definitely not the right coach for you. I’m not interested in giving you another set of ADHD strategies that work brilliantly in theory but that you can't keep doing and leave you feeling worse about yourself.

Instead, we’ll figure out what you need to work at your best, so you get better at recognising when things are starting to go off track and know what to do about it before you run out of fuel and crash.

Because when you do that, it also starts to change how you think about the things you find difficult.

Instead of assuming the problem is you, that you’re failing, not good enough, or just need to try harder, you start to see those difficulties as useful information:

  • What's making this so difficult?
  • What's getting in the way?
  • What might this be telling me about what I need?

Over time, you’ll build a clearer picture of how your brain works, what brings out the best in you, and what knocks you off track, and find practical ways of doing things that fit you and your life.

This isn't about doing more or trying harder. It's about doing things differently, in a way that works for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early 50s. The diagnosis helped explain why I could be perfectly capable in some areas of my life while finding other, seemingly simple things ridiculously difficult. But knowing I had ADHD didn't tell me what to do differently or how to work with my brain, so I just kept doing what I'd always done: trying harder until I hit burnout and finally realised that I needed to change the way I do things.

I’d already spent over 25 years developing and coaching leaders and managers, and my diagnosis led me to train as an ADHD and Executive Functions Coach. I started bringing that knowledge together with everything I’d learned about how people think, learn, and change, as well as figuring out what works for my own ADHD brain.

That’s a big part of why I do this work now. I see so many capable women with so much to give, who want to do a good job and make a difference, but who are exhausted from trying to keep up and starting to doubt themselves in the process. There is another way of doing things. One that works with who you are rather than constantly asking you to push harder, so life takes less out of you, and there’s more of you left for the things that matter.

I’m an ICF Accredited Coach, NLP Master Practitioner and Executive Functions Coach. Before specialising in ADHD, I worked with leaders and managers in organisations including Network Rail, Ford, De Beers and the European Investment Bank.
