My name is Maria and I deeply believe in the human capacity for change and personal growth. I am passionate about Personal Development Coaching and supporting clients to start living their best life now. Are you someone who has a very clear goal or just know something needs to change, but you're not sure what? Perhaps its overcoming the blocks and unhelpful patterns that keep you stuck, or maybe you may want to make changes in your life but don't know how or cant maintain the motivation.
As part of my private practice, Choosing Change, I offer a professional personal development coaching service that promotes and facilitates well-being and personal growth for people in Bournemouth, East Dorset & beyond. My practice is approximately 1 mile outside of Bournemouth town centre and there is ample on-road parking and I'm very close to a good public transport route. I also work with clients in the UK and abroad who prefer online coaching.
Personal development coaching is a life changing process and a journey to be enjoyed. My remit is to facilitate you into making positive changes that will help you to flourish and be the best you can be.

I am particularly passionate about supporting people in middle age and beyond who want to make their second half their best half.
Successful 'agers' accept that although our bodies grow older, that doesn't have to stop us continuing to grow and develop and move forward in new directions.
Ageing well doesn't just happen; it requires a decision and action. If we choose to, there is a great deal we can do to cultivate a positive approach to ageing that facilitates emotional resilience, physical wellbeing and a future that is full of possibility. I would love to support you in exploring such a journey

Addiction Recovery Coaching
As an qualified and very experienced addiction therapist I am able to work with various addictions including, smoking, gambling, shopping. internet, food, computer games, work, cosmetic surgery, prescription drugs and over the counter painkillers. My speciality is substance misuse particularly alcohol misuse and alcoholism.
I realise that not everyone wants to engage with public funded local community based addiction treatment programs that are based on group work. My private practice offers you confidential bespoke one-to one sessions.
I have over twenty years experience in the field of addiction and health related behaviour change. I also hold the NCSCT smoking cessation qualification.

I am fully insured to practice (full public liability), Enhanced DBS checked and as a reflective practitioner, I have regular supervision. I am a member of the BACP Coaching Division and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and am committed to the process of continuing professional development.
I had a 20 year career in the Civil Service before retraining as a therapeutic counsellor 10 years ago followed by Life Coaching training. As well as having my private practice, I have worked within primary care for the NHS, community counselling settings, the voluntary sector and an addictions treatment agency. I also have experience in self esteem, confidence and assertiveness group coaching and running other psycho-educational workshops and personal development training. I have a special interest in helping clients explore aspects of positive ageing and well-being.
